Nala Aubry filed an affidavit in Los Angeles Superior Court defending her mother against allegations of abuse by Halle’s ex-husband, Olivier Martinezaccording to Hello! The filing provides a rare glimpse of the quiet young woman who grew up far from the paparazzi her mother fought so hard to keep away.

Who is Nahla Aubry?

Nahla is Halle’s only daughter and a model Gabriel Abry. Halle has long kept her children out of the public eye and has pushed for stronger protections against photographers chasing celebrity children, so Nahla grew up largely away from the cameras.

Nahla’s filing came days after Olivier accused Halle of abusing Maceo in an argument on September 26, 2026. He said she choked their son and made racially charged comments about him in the past. He requested custody only and was granted a temporary restraining order, although the judge allowed Halle’s contact with Maceo to continue.

Nahla pushed back firmly at her statement.

“I never saw my mother hit, slap, choke, grab or abuse Maceo in any way.”

She described Halle as a loving and devoted parent who can be strict when needed, and said she never heard her mother make racial comments. Nahla also said she was heartbroken for her brother, who felt happy when they last spoke on September 29.

Halle’s lawyer, Marina Beckhas called Olivier’s claim without merit and said he was already legally sanctioned for violating court orders.

Regardless of what comes next in court, Nahla made one thing clear in her filing. She wants a chance to look at Maceo, and she wants him to know how much she loves him.
