“Maybe I’ve spent too much time in California, but after doing the work I did, there’s still a connection with my mother [Princess Diana] that I really feel his energy at certain times and certain parts of my life. … There is an energetic piece to this, which I have never appreciated, which I have never understood. But when my son, when Archie was born and I had to go back to London and make the 40-minute journey in and out of London, I was so overwhelmed with everything that was happening and everything I had to deal with. But then I would go back and I would literally take Archie away from Meghan. And if I was still under pressure, he would feel it immediately. And I got into this routine, okay, okay, now I’m going to use this 40 minute ride to be able to try to get that [calm]. And even when I got to the door of the house, I’d be like, “Test this now.” And I go in, I hold him and he leans into me. I’m like, ‘Whoa, okay.’ So it’s just a real thing. And I think as a parent, we have to be so aware of what we carry that they can pick up. That we know how we feel and maybe we don’t know how we feel. Your children will be the first to tell you because they won’t want to live with you.”
