An influencer Jane Hamilton including her next chapter after separating from her husband Brian Hamilton.
“It had to be as bad as it was for me to leave because I have forgiven so much in the marriage,” said Jen, 36, on the Thursday, October 8, episode of the magazine. “Won’t Lie” podcast, dealing with her breakup. “This was, as it were, the pressure that I needed to be free. Since then, life has opened up.”
Jen announced in June that she and Brian, who have two sons, were on it separated after 14 years of marriage. The labor and delivery nurse has since claimed that Brian was unfaithful and had an affair with an older woman. (Brian has not publicly addressed their split or any of Jen’s allegations.)
“We broke up because I had found a secret TikTok account where he was like, doing what normal people do, buying nudes and stuff,” Jen told the podcast host Kylie Kelce. “I was like, ‘No, not doing this again,’ [and] he kicked him out. In the period after that, it would be weird to talk about stuff or tell me stuff, and I was like, ‘If you don’t tell me right one second what I am that I don’t know, I know people.'”
When Jen finally questioned Brian, he admitted that he was having an affair before the mistress contacted the creator of the outstanding content.
“It was a long conversation,” she said of her conversation with partner Brian. “I got a little snarky, but I feel like I kept my cool. … There were words, and you know what? I wish him the best. I hope he finds what he’s looking for.”
Jen and Brian have yet to file for divorce due to current North Carolina law, which states that a couple must go through a one-year separation before legally ending a marriage.
“I’m also trying to change North Carolina’s divorce law ’cause it’s bulls***,” she said Thursday. “You can’t even be completely with your spouse for a whole year and that person, when it’s time to file for divorce, they can say, ‘Oh, I spent the night with her two weeks ago.’ The timer will start to expire. … [The law] unchanged since 1931.”
According to Jen, she started advocating for a change in the marital image after her own friend’s divorce of six years.
“A woman’s departure is the most dangerous time in her life, so why would we keep women … attached to someone who is a threat to them?” said Jen. “That doesn’t make any sense, like, let them go.”
