Why Glen Powell stays silent on politics, avoids ‘conversation’

Glen Powell there is no concern in entering the political scene one piece.

“Over time, I realized that politics divides people,” Powell, 37, said in a statement Esquire image published on Wednesday, October 8. “People trying to prove their point – to me, it’s the worst version of conversation. I really don’t like the conversation. It’s not as healthy as it once was.”

Because of the politically charged unhealthy conversations, Powell says it is “not possible right now” to even engage in some conversations.

“I applaud people for jumping into these things and fighting for what they believe in,” he said. “If I were a political person, I would talk about it. For me, my calling is elsewhere.”

Instead of activism, Powell is focusing on his Hollywood career as an actor and screenwriter.

“I want to bring people together over a common thing,” said the Beyond Great star said of his career goals. “I believe in what I’m doing, and I work very, very hard to make sure it’s something that audiences want. It’s not an easy thing to care that much.”

While Powell finds joy in his film and TV projects, he has the full support of his parents, siblings and girlfriend Michelle Randolph.

“Life is fast for both of us, and we have the same values,” said the Powers of Chad actor attached to the ship from Randolph, 29. “She loves her family, I love my family and we both care about work very much. We both like to show up for our partners – yet we also understand the balance of it all.”

Powell and the A landman actress has been romantically linked since late last year before starting social media in June.

“There’s something so beautiful about someone rooting for you. Someone who wants you to win in every way that’s good for you as a person,” Powell said in a profile Wednesday. “Not just professionally but in every way that’s good for your soul.”

In addition to shining Powell Esquire comments, he and Randolph preferred to keep their relationship private.

“I think, for peace of mind, those are really important for me to keep separate,” Randolph said told InStyle in January of her low romance. “How people see you in public is not who you are. It’s sad that it’s not [read the comments] because it’s so against us, and everyone online, that you see things you don’t necessarily want, and then it puts you in a bad mood for the rest of the day or hurts your feelings. There’s no point in letting that define you because it’s not true. “
