Gypsy Rose Blanchardin their obedience to Kenneth Urcare raising questions about a privacy decision she announced months earlier. After Urker’s death, Blanchard shared a leaked video of their daughter, Aurora, followed by a photo of him holding her. The posts caught attention because Blanchard had previously told her followers that she would not publish photos of Aurora, citing her privacy and safety. Now, social media users are debating the change, with some claiming Urker wanted to keep their daughter’s face private. Others have raised the possibility that Blanchard is simply sharing meaningful memories while grieving.
Gypsy Rose shares Aurora in her tribute to Ken Urker
Blanchard’s first Instagram tribute included a collection of personal photos and videos of Urker, who was found unresponsive at a home in Louisiana on Oct. 1, his 34th birthday. Among the clips was a video of Aurora with a fun filter over her face. “You are the greatest love story I will ever have. You will be remembered and loved forever,” Blanchard wrote in the caption.
On Sunday morning, she shared another photo with Aurora, this time showing Urker holding their daughter. That post sparked a Change.org petition for “Kenan’s Law,” an effort Blanchard described as calling for changes to how social media platforms review multiple harassment reports.
“All I have is my daughter and my voice,” she began the caption. “In honor of Ken, I’m asking for your support of Ken’s Law. LINK IN BIO,” she continued.
Blanchard previously promised to keep the Aurora photos private
The new posts follow a public statement made by Blanchard shortly after the birth of Aurora in December 2024. In January 2025, she spoke to fans who wanted to see photos of her daughter and explained why she would not share them.
“For everyone who is asking, no, I don’t post pictures of Aurora,” she wrote on Instagram. “I understand everyone’s excitement, and we appreciate the support, but we value our daughter’s privacy and safety.”
Blanchard continued to hide Aurora’s face in subsequent posts. As recently as August, she celebrated her daughter turning 19 months old with a collection of clips in which her face was still blurred.
A Facebook Post criticizes the timing of Aurora’s appearance
One Facebook post objected to Blanchard showing Aurora’s face so soon after Urker’s death. “Ken had been very protective of Aurora’s privacy and did not want their daughter’s face exposed in public,” the author said. “Now Ken’s gone, and almost immediately she’s showing Aurora’s face in public as part of Gypsy’s tribute to him…that’s absolutely disgusting to me.”
The post argued that Blanchard should continue to respect what the writer said were Urker’s wishes. “To me, honoring Ken’s memory should also mean honoring the boundaries he wanted for his daughter,” they wrote. “Aurora is a child. She cannot understand what it means to spread her image on social media, and once these pictures are online, she does not take them back.”
The author also urged people to separate the couple’s relationship problems from their daughter’s decisions. “Whatever problems there were between Gypsy and Ken belong to the adults,” they wrote. “Aurora deserves privacy no matter how famous her parents are. Ken can’t lay claim to that end himself, which makes it even more important in my opinion to protect it.”
The Instagram account raises another explanation for the posts

The debate also reached Instagram, where @rei_clarke questioned Blanchard’s decision. The account said Urker had “previously made it clear that he did not want his daughter’s face shared publicly on social media.”
That accusation sparked debate over whether his reported desires should continue to guide decisions about Aurora’s online presence. However, the account acknowledged another possible explanation, asking if Blanchard was simply “a grieving mother sharing a meaningful memory.”
Blanchard has promised that Aurora will know her father’s love
Blanchard and Urker welcomed Aurora Raina in December 2024 after reuniting earlier that year. Their relationship began through letters while Blanchard was incarcerated. Urker contacted her in 2017, and they got engaged in 2018 before later splitting.
Blanchard later married Ryan Anderson. After the end of that marriage, she and Urker reunited in April 2024. Earlier reports said they separated again before his death.
Since his death, Blanchard has described Urker as an amazing father and promised to “make sure she grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her.” She has said she suspects he died of an overdose, although an official cause and manner of death has not been confirmed in the information provided. Authorities have said that the investigation is continuing.
In a petition message Sunday, Blanchard wrote, “Ken’s death has forced me to turn pain into purpose. I can’t change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening.”
