When Urker didn’t show up for work the next day, the couple went with his boss to check on him. They found him unresponsive in his home in Louisiana on October 1, his 34th birthday.
According to a police report obtained by E! News, Urker went to church with Dylan and Anita around 8:45pm on September 30th. The couple reported his behavior to investigators, including comments that left them concerned. “They said Mr. Urker made comments that he was depressed and confused,” Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Brandon Smith wrote in the report.
Dylan and Anita also told authorities about Urker’s TikTok live stream that was made later that evening. “They advised that he made a live TikTok video around it [11 p.m.]”, they said.
Their account posted the church visit and the live stream within hours of each other. The report did not give a verbatim account of Urker’s comments at the church other than to state that he had talked about being depressed and confused.
The next day, another development made them go to his home.
Ken Urker’s lost job move prompted a look
Urker’s boss, Justin Daigle, told Dylan and Anita that he had not shown up for work on October 1st. The couple said “because of his behavior” the night before, and after learning about his absence from work, they decided to “check on him,” according to the police report.
Dylan, Anita, and Daigle went to the residence around 6 p.m. “Dylan Blanchard was able to get to Mr. Urker’s bedroom window, as it was opened,” the document said. “And he could see Mr. Urker lying on the bed unconscious. As soon as they realized that Mr. Urker was unresponsive, Mr. Blanchard and Justin Daigle moved the blinds and entered through the window and found Mr. Urker in his bed, cold to the touch.”
Daigle told police that Urker was “cold and not breathing.”
The discovery came on Urcar’s birthday. He had turned 34 that day, just a few hours after the church visit Dylan and Anita explained to investigators.
Police recorded drug paraphernalia at residence
When deputies arrived at Urcare’s home, they found him lying on his back in bed. According to the report, he appeared to have “been there for a long time.” Authorities also documented drug paraphernalia in the bathroom, including syringes and a spoon “next to a brown powdery substance.”
The report mentioned additional items near the bed. “He had a paper towel placed on his left arm with what appeared to be blood blotches on the paper towel,” Smith wrote. “The handgun on the night stand was concealed by lying next to two shotguns and a syringe.
The sheriff’s office described the incident as an “overdose.” However, Urker’s official cause of death has not been released.
Gypsy Rose said Ken was ‘not in a good state of mind’
Blanchard has also spoken about Urker’s emotional state before his death. “I don’t know if it was intentional or not,” she told PEOPLE. “He hasn’t been in a good state of mind lately.” She described struggling to process the news, saying, “I’m in disbelief. I can’t think. I’ve screamed until my throat burns.”
Blanchard and Urker share a daughter, Aurora Raina, born in December 2024. The couple reunited earlier this year after an earlier engagement and years apart.
Their relationship first began through correspondence while Blanchard was incarcerated. Urker contacted her after watching a documentary about her life, and they eventually got engaged in 2018. They later separated before reuniting in April 2024. Earlier reports said they had separated again before his death.
Ken’s sister criticized Blanchard’s response to his death
As Blanchard shared statements mourning Urker, his sister, Autumn, publicly criticized her response. “We are disappointed by her statements. She hasn’t even contacted my mother or any of us yet,” said Foghar to the Daily Mail.
Autumn also said Blanchard was “to blame” for her brother’s death, saying it all started “because of him”.
Her interview followed Blanchard’s recent public comments about a suspected overdose and his mental state.
