Days of Our Lives Sydney DiMera (Sydney Malakeh) works for her stepfather, Dante Vitali (Franco LoPresti), but the question is whether he will force Sydney to do a dirty job that will harm her father, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). And is it on purpose, or is Sydney an unwitting bullet in Dante’s game?
Days of Our Lives: Sydney Working for Dante
So, we know that Sydney has just finished her MBA and her law degree from a prestigious European university, and she works for Dante, her mother, Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) lover. And he offered her a job when she recently graduated. Dante even bought Sydney a seat at his recent high-stakes poker game Monte Carlo. And we know she learned to play cards from her grandfather, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor).
And Sydney even got a cut of her winnings that night. But we learned that Dante and his former schoolmate Dominic Marino had planned to lose or win Philip Kiriakis (John Paul Lavoisier), but not win enough to save the house and the business. So, that worked out for them in one way, but then in another way it didn’t. Because as you know, Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) caught the poker player cheating and Dante had to kick the guy out of the game. And then Philip won the poker game, but it wasn’t enough money.

But then Philip won big at roulette. And recently he and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) got the money to pay off the loan to save him Titan Industries. And as far as we know, Sydney didn’t know Dante was working with Dominic. We know that Dante reports to Dominic, but maybe Sydney was brought into the poker game as a distraction or someone else to knock Philip out of the race. I don’t think it was an accident that Sydney was at that game.
And now EJ’s daughter is in Salem and Sydney is working remotely for Dante so she can spend time in her hometown. And right now, it seems that Sydney is unaware of the deepest secrets that Dante is keeping from her. Like, Sydney didn’t know Dante knew Dominic. And Sydney seems to see Dante in a positive light. Sydney said it has been very good to her. It’s been good for Sami. Additionally, Sydney protected Dante and talked to him.

However, there has been speculation that Dante may have been educated by Sydney to help carry out Dominic’s agenda. If it is true that Dante is using Sydney for business and personal agendas, that could raise red flags for Sami and EJ as her parents. Not only that, but Sydney was caught smoking weed at the mansion when she first arrived in Salem, which EJ finds disgusting and immoral.
Ironically, later this week, Sydney will attend the baby shower of her sister-in-law, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), and spoilers tell us that Sydney and the other guests may accidentally eat pot brownies served by Paulina Price (Jackée Harry). It seems she gave birth to the wrong ones because Lani Price (Sal Stowers) had made pot brownies to Chanel’s nausea.
So, we can also see Sydney getting in a boring way. Therefore, the herb may be loosening her lips. And I wonder if Sydney will say something insulting about Dante. You know, Sydney might blurt out something about the poker game or mention that her brother Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) is hiding something. So, it makes me question if Sydney vaping marijuana is a habit she developed on her own or if Dante taught Sydney to be a high head for some reason. That would make both EJ and Sami livid if Dante is responsible for getting Sydney high and using nasty drugs.
Dantes secret connection with Dominic on Days
And there is certainly more than meets the eye with Dante’s connection to Dominic Marino, especially now that we know that Dominic is the son of Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). So, we have seen Dante secretly reporting back to Dominic about the Monte Carlo poker game. And either Sydney didn’t know about the Dante-Dominic connection until Belle Black (Martha Madison) and Marlena told her about it because they got it from Paul Narita. Either that or Sydney is a really good little actress and she’s joking, but she looked legit shocked and Sydney offered to ask Dante about Dominic, but was told no.
And Sydney sees it as a big deal. She trusts Dante, but once it becomes known that Dominic is Sydney’s uncle on both sides of the family tree, things can change. And I wonder if Dominic will force Dante to give Sydney a job assignment that could harm her father, EJ, in some way. Dante and Dominic both seem to have a bone to pick with Sydney’s father, EJ.
DOOL: Dante Jealous or EJ?
And Sydney recently pointed out that Dante told her that Sami will always love EJ. Maybe there is jealousy. It looks like Dominic is also ready to step in as Stefano’s heir, parent, and take the title from his brother EJ. In the recent episodes, Sydney and Johnny had a heart-to-heart. Johnny was talking about wishing he could move to Italy right now, but Sydney wants to stay in Salem no longer. And Johnny told Sydney EJ in shady stuff. And that’s when she said to Johnny, “Okay, don’t tell me anything else.” Because legally, if he told Sydney more stuff, she would have to testify as a witness.
So, Johnny didn’t stop telling Sydney everything about the medication scandal. And so far, there has been no on-screen confirmation that Sydney is actually doing Dominic’s dirty work through Dante. And as far as we can see, Sydney doesn’t seem to know and has been kept in the dark so far by not only people in Salembut also Dante and Dominic in Italy. But Sydney’s aunt Belle and grandmother Marlena are very suspicious of Dante and Dominic’s secret relationship. And now that Marlena knows the alleged truth that Dominic is her son, then Dante’s relationship with Sami and Sydney could be a source of concern for Marlena.
Days of Our Lives: EJ in the Dark
Now, we know that the connection of Sami and Dominic buying the Kiriakis mansion is absolutely one hundred percent not a coincidence, but just how much does Sydney know? And does she keep things from loved ones and family in Salem? Sydney could be just a pawn in this twisted game for Dante and Dominic to prove their power Salem and over the Blackmailed and forever by Marlena’s family.
One thing is for sure, EJ seems to be completely in the dark about who exactly Dante and Dominic are. Sydney’s father, EJ, only knows surface level stuff, so Dominic is a billionaire who wanted the Kiriakis mansion in Salem for reasons EJ can’t figure out. And he only really knows Dante as the billionaire lover of his wife Sami. And Marlena and Belle now know that Dante and Dominic are connected. But I don’t think anyone is going to help EJ out and give him this vital piece of information.
Maybe Sydney will tell him, maybe not. And in the end, if Dante has manipulated Sydney into working against EJ, I’m pretty sure Dante would have done it according to Dominic’s marching orders because the latest DiMera it seems he has a big grudge against his brother EJ and he may be using his daughter Sydney against him. That would be perfect and very DiMera something to do.
