The last dance of the night featured a special dedication to the late actor Heath Ledger.
His 10 Things I Hate About You co-star Julia Stiles she honored him with her performance of “Dedication Night” on Tuesday night’s (October 20) episode of Dancing with the Stars.
At the end of the dance, an emotional voice message from Julia played while she was looking at a picture of Heather on the screen and put a rose on a staircase. Then, their co-stars Joseph Gordon Levitt, Larisa Oleynik, Andrew Keegan, Susan May Prattand Gabrielle Union with her on stage for a special moment all together.
During her dance, Julia and her husband, Ezra Sosaperformed a contemporary standard set to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli.
“I learned a lot from them Heather… It was so easy with him. I have many good memories. I really wish I could pick up the phone, and be like, ‘Hey dude,'” she said in her rehearsal package before the dance.
Before the session, Julia he opened up about rehearsals for the emotional dance.
“I’m surprised at how emotional it is,” she said People.
“I know from watching the show how emotional Dedication Night is. It’s always very personal stories. But I thought, ‘Oh, I’m so far away from it. The movie was so long ago,'” Julia continue “But there’s something about watching clips from that film, seeing our pictures, hearing our voices that lifts a lot.”
“I really feel the importance of honoring him,” she said of her late co-star. “He lives on because his performance in that movie was so amazing.
On last week’s show, Julia she recreated a dance from another of their favorite films, Save the Last Dance.
