Wynonna Judd she opened up about how she was struggling with her daughter, Grace Kelley.
“Grace is my love, she’s my daughter and I love her so much,” Judd, 62, told him People in an image published on Wednesday, September 30. “She’s addicted to meth, and it’s devastating.”
Kelley, 30, is currently serving a sentence of one year and three months in the Rockingham County Jail in Harrisonburg, Virginia, after pleading guilty to the felony charge of driving with a suspended license in June. Us News broke in August that a judge had denied Kelley’s recent transfer for temporary leave in the midst of her pregnancy.
“No, I don’t know anything,” Judd told him People when asked about her daughter’s pregnancy. “I’m heartbroken, and she cut me off a year ago. I’m walking a very interesting tour right now, where I have very little.”
The country singer also said that she first found out about Kelley’s pregnancy through TikTok.
“I lay there, and I was shocked, just as you can imagine,” Judd said. “I cried and cried and cried because I have another grandmother, I think.”
Judd and her husband, Cactus Moserhas adopted Kelley’s 4-year-old daughter, Kaliyah. The couple, who are also grandparents to Judd’s 2-year-old son Elijah, have rarely been in contact with Kelley since.
“I miss her a lot, and I’ve missed a lot of years because of drug addiction,” Judd told People. “I’ve spent half a million dollars on programs trying to do the right thing, trying to do the next right thing. And meth is a drug. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and I can’t believe it.
She continued, “As an addicted mother, I can tell you this: When the money stops, they usually cut you off because there’s no more money. And I did everything I could do.”
Judd, who shares Grace and Elijah with her ex Arch Kelley IIIremains hopeful that her daughter will find “healing” and “stop blaming me.”
“She’s 30. There comes a time when you can’t blame him anymore,” she said in the image on Wednesday. “You have to look after yourself.”
Grace has been arrested several times over the years for various drug-related charges and parole violations before her recent incarceration.
