Roommates, the Braxton family has suffered a loss. According to scalethe loved one of Trina Braxtonhe reportedly died on Thursday (October 1). She has not publicly commented on Scales’ death, but a representative for Braxton’s family confirmed the death to TMZ.

Trina Braxton & Family Request Privacy Amid Von Scales Death
Braxton’s rep reportedly told TMZ: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Trina Braxton’s beloved Von Scales.” Also, the statement thanked the public for their support while requesting privacy.
“The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers but requests privacy at this time as they navigate this unfortunate event.”
TMZ, citing sources close to the family, says Von Scales passed away a few hours after midnight on October 1st in Atlanta. His cause of death is unknown at this time. TMZ cited rumors that Scales may be suffering from “heart-related problems.”
Trina Braxton & Von Scales got married in 2019
Braxton and Von Scales, according to USA Today, met through mutual friends and married in 2019. Previously on her family’s reality show, Trina shared her adoration for Von, saying that their relationship was “different” from the past. “It just makes me feel really safe,” she said then about the late man. During his proposal, Von Scales told Trina Braxton, “I love you with everything I have in a way I never thought possible.”
After the wedding was televised, she reportedly told PEOPLE that it was “amazing and amazing.” On the ‘Marriage and Money’ podcast in 2023, she talked about how her marriage to Von was different from her past.
“I had already been married twice, so I had two husbands and I hadn’t raised anything with either of them. There was nothing to explain. But now there are things that we can look forward to together, and I’ve never had that in my life… It’s an amazing feeling to be able to emphasize someone instead of being the person that someone else has to follow,” Trina said at the time.
Trina’s ex-husband also died
Von Scales’ passing marks Trina Braxton’s second time dealing with the loss of her husband. Before marrying Scales, she had gone through a divorce from Gabriel Solis. They married in 2003 and he helped raise her two sons, Eric and Caleb, from her first marriage to Jose Jr.. The relationship between Solis and Trina went through ups and downs, including vow renewals and repeated infidelity issues, for fans to see on the show, ‘Braxton Family Values.’ Finally, Trina and Gabriel separated and divorced in 2015 after almost 12 years of marriage. They finally broke up before he died suddenly from pancreatic cancer in December 2018 at the age of 43. Von, she previously said, stood by her through her grief. Also, in 2022, Trina’s sister, Traci Braxton, died at 50 of cancer.
