Travis Kelce keeps some details private when it comes to how he spent his 37th birthday with his wife Taylor Swift.
“I had a lot of people reach out and say happy birthday,” Travis told his brother, Jason Kelceon the Wednesday, October 7, episode of their “New Heights” podcast. “It was a good day, it was a fun day. I got to eat out here in New York.”
The tight end said he went to one of his favorite restaurants in town, Torrisi, with Swift, 36. (The couple, who tied the knot in July, were photographed together at the hot spot on Monday, Oct. 4.)
For Travis, the “best” way to celebrate his birthday was with another victory for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Las Vegas Raiders one day earlier.
“That was the joy I had around my birthday, that I got a win going on [week]”, he said, “Losing destroys everyone’s life. … If I had lost, it would have ruined my birthday, for sure.”
Although Travis didn’t have a cake on his big day, he did get to enjoy Torrisi’s full “arsenal” of desserts. When asked if he would reveal more about his performances with Swift – including gifts – he quickly declined.
“I just like to keep it moving,” he told Jason, 38.
Travis hasn’t shied away from talking about his relationship with Swift on his podcast – that’s how the couple’s love story began, after all – but he’s kept some things closer to the vest in recent months. He briefly opened up about the pair’s Madison Square Garden wedding when “New Heights” returned from hiatus in September.
“At this point, we’re what, over a month out? It’s been so much fun,” he said. “First of all, it was a night we’ll never forget. Me and Taylor are so thankful for everyone who showed up, you know, from the pledges to just seeing everyone to the fun we had all evening, and hearing that kind of spread throughout the night’s stories.”
Travis called the ceremony “magical,” saying, “I wish it had lasted even longer than it did, it felt like it happened in the blink of an eye.”
He went on to explain why MSG felt like the right choice of venue for the superstar couple, saying, “We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a really intimate and authentic setting without a lot of distractions. We needed it to feel private.”
