It’s a new week and that means a new round of picking what you want to watch every night. Over on Hulu this week, the options get a little scary, but also a lot of fun.
This week in particular, there are more shows than movies first, so our recommendations are going to pull just a touch from movies that hit the streamer earlier this month. The good news is, there are so many options at the beginning of each month, it’s very likely that you haven’t made it through your best options yet. So, let us help you reduce it.
Here are the three best new movies on Hulu this week.

The Hunger Games franchise
Actually, this entire list could have been our top three “Hunger Games” movies, since the entire franchise hits Hulu this week. But that’s a tough decision to make, so instead, we’re just grouping them into one entry.
In fact, if you have never seen this franchise, you should start at the beginning with just “The Hunger Games”. It’s quite a trip to realize that that first movie turns 15 years old next year, and to see how young Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson look in it. It will be especially fun to watch and then work your way up to the latest film in the franchise, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” ahead of “Sunrise on the Reaping” hitting theaters in November.
Now is the perfect time to start working your way through to be ready on time.

Hokum
If you’re looking for something that’s scary in the supernatural sense, rather than the potentially terrifying dystopian sense, you’re going to want to go with “Hokum.”
The horror film stars Adam Scott as novelist Ohm Bauman, who goes to a remote hotel to scatter his parents’ ashes. However, once he is there, he is consumed by stories of a witch who haunts the place. In short, he starts having real visions and has to deal with a disappearance that forces him to face his past.
This one is definitely a scary movie, so for the scaredy cats out there, have lots of comfort nearby. For those of you who are having horrendous success like this… have fun, I guess!

Night at the Museum
If you need a good old-fashioned party movie that’s a little goofy, “Night at the Museum” is the safest bet.
It stars Ben Stiller as an entrepreneur who can’t seem to get any idea off the ground, and struggles to hold down a steady job and living conditions to support his young son. In an effort to be less of a problem and get a steady income, he becomes a night watchman at the Natural History Museum. The catch is, everything comes alive at night.
That means Robin Williams is Teddy Roosevelt, Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan are miniatures, and Brad Garrett is a big stone face who just wants gum-gum from a dum-dum. Oh, Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney and Bill Cobbs are the bad guys.
He really is a strange, delightful duck.
