Biles has no problem being called a WAG, even though she is one of the world’s most decorated athletes of all time.
“It doesn’t bother me because I know who I am and what I’ve done outside of it,” Biles told US Weekly, pointing to her Olympic achievements and her work in mental health.
According to her, the WAG label takes nothing away from the achievements that have defined her career.
“It doesn’t matter when someone is like, ‘Oh, Simone is one of the WAGs,'” the athlete said. “For me, it doesn’t seem like it’s embarrassing because I know exactly who I am.”
Jonathan Owens is also comfortable being called ‘Mr. bills’
Biles isn’t the only one still unfazed by the status change marriage has brought.
The Blast previously reported that Owens had also talked about being recognized through his wife. The NFL player said he thinks he’s called “Mr. Biles,” especially since his marriage to the Olympic champion says a lot about him.
He also admitted that people judge NFL players in part by who they choose as their significant other.
Owens, however, opened up about the attention surrounding their marriage, including the scrutiny he faced after comments about Bill in 2023. At the time, he said he didn’t know who his wife was before they met.
Despite the lawsuit, Biles supported him and encouraged him to deal with the negativity as noise.

Before talking about her “WAG” title, Simone Biles revealed that she is taking a different approach to supporting her husband during the new NFL season.
As reported by The Blast, she will not travel to her away games this year, choosing to stay at home and focus on her own work on those weekends.
Last year, Biles attended all of Owens’ games, both home and away. She previously explained that it was difficult to make that commitment, even if she wanted to be there for him because he also appears to her.
This season, the pair is switching to a different approach as Owens continues his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens first connected on the dating app Raya in 2020, while the world was navigating the pandemic. Biles recalled that Owens was in the Houston area, which got them chatting before they met in person a couple of weeks later.
The relationship became very serious, and the couple made it official on Instagram before Owens proposed on Valentine’s Day in 2022.
They married in a Houston courthouse ceremony in 2023 before celebrating with a bigger wedding in Cabo San Lucas.

Biles’ focus on her future in athletics also reflects the career she took after her marriage.
Last month, the gymnast returned to the World Champions Center, where she was getting a glimpse of her old locker, untouched since her pre-Olympic preparations.
As The Blast reported, the post sparked a new debate about a possible competing product.
Biles has not confirmed whether she will compete at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, describing her decision as “50-50”. She has also said that her mental health will play a big part in deciding whether she returns to competition.
