Sketch: They had started with the Drew Barrymore series. That took a few weeks, and we were all there a little before that for things like wardrobe fittings. This was in Napa Valley, California, wine country, and we got to know each other by meeting at the hotel.
David Arquette built a bar in his room, and we rode go-karts—we did all kinds of crazy things you’d expect us to do in our twenties. We got to know each other outside of the set, and we all clicked so quickly. And obviously, relationships developed based on how well people clicked.
The fountain scene was my first day on set, if I remember correctly. This is the scene where Jamie Kennedy is [Randy] harassing us about Casey and Steve’s murder. That was our first day, and it was wild.
Wes [Craven] there was such an early scene, as it were [screenwriter] Kevin Williamson, who we talked to every day and tried to keep up with.
