This is very heartbreaking news from the Western Isles world RuPaul at Drag Race.
Lucian Pianthe music producer and composer who helped shape some of the franchise’s most memorable musical moments, has died aged just 46.
According to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records via Different and others Tuesday morning, Piane died Monday after being hit by a car in Glendale, California. Such a terrible situation…

Piane was working on it RuPaul’s Drag Race for its first eight seasons, writing music and creating the show’s storyline Russian numbers. He also contributed RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars and collaborated with RuPaul on several fan favorites including Cover Girl, Sissy who walks, Jealous of My Boogie, Naked was born, Championand Main Event. His credits also included work on the 2007 soundtrack Hair explosion film, which earned him a Grammy name
After news of his death, World of Wonderthe production company behind it Drag Raceshare a moving proposal on social media:
“We are shocked to learn of the death of Lucian Piane. Lucian left a legacy of truly beautiful music. May his struggle never diminish the memories of a sweet man, dear friend, and great musician. Rest in peace, Lucian.”
Licensing judge and representative Michael Face also expressing her grief, writing:
“Such a beautiful, talented soul… such a loss.”
Piane had reportedly struggled with substance abuse and mental health challenges in the years leading up to his death, according to Different.
Friends and fans had expressed concern online after he shared a series of troubles Instagram videos, with some urging him to seek help.

At the same time, a journalist Larry Flickwho described Piane as a friend, also shared a very personal tribute:
“Lucian was my friend. It wasn’t always easy. He was troubled, complicated, and filled with anger that he didn’t know how to handle. Like many, I tried to help until it was impossible.
Wow.
This is a very sad loss for the students Drag Race community and everyone touched by Piane’s music.
May he be remembered for the creativity he brought into the world, and may those who loved him rest in peace during this difficult time…
