Out with Alexin Tokyo. On this episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Tamra’s party is ending, but the trip to Japan has just begun. Although the group is down Carmellathey still have some fun. But when Emily opening up about her marriage, her concern for her future is palpable.
Alexis feels attacked Heatherbut is she just trying to create something that doesn’t exist? Heather wants Alexis to understand that going on podcasts and creating more beef won’t help their situation. Heather chooses to say goodbye to Alexis, rather than stand there and be uncertainly called by Alexis.
When she re-enters the party, Heather fills the women in on what went down with Alexis. According to Alexis, she “took Heather to work” (um, okay) and Tamra is mad that no one is getting on at her party. It’s interesting to think Tamra was the one in charge of the guest list and what did she think would happen?!
After much lovemaking, Alexis returns to the event and pulls Heather aside for a moment. Heather thinks Alexis is upset because she told Shannon that John heard the crash. Alexis is furious, but Heather does not deny that she said this information. Again, Alexis walks away when she can’t handle the heat in the kitchen. Alexis says Heather is lying and Shannon suggests that maybe Alexis keeps leaving and coming back because she wants a story.
As for Tokyo, Carmella is unlikely to join. After all, someone punched three holes in her birth certificate, making it almost impossible to get a passport. Carmella’s phobias mixed with her diabetes make her a tough sell.
Tamra brings alcohol and is beyond proud of everything she has built Eddie and its brand. Immediately after the speech, Shane making his grand entrance, finally. Someone has to take care of the kids…
Shannon explains that she got hold of Archie one night. Archie now receives anti-seizure medication and needs an MRI. Shannon isn’t sure if she should even go to Tokyo next week because Archie has been her rock for every part of her life.
Jenn and Emily goes to a med spa where at Ryan’s a working girl. This makes Emily think about Jenn’s wedding plans with Ryan, which seem to have stalled. Jenn explains that things are good right now, and that she’s just worried that once they tie the knot, things will fall apart.
Perhaps that explains why Jenn is willing to do anything to make herself look younger. She lets a doctor lift and kiss her face and then Emily gets in on the action.
Packing for Japan is a whole new ball game for these women. Turns out that Carmella is not coming on the trip and this brings out the group. Carmella reveals that she is “in no place to travel” due to her weight and diabetes. Also, her ADHD medication was not approved in Japan because she did not give enough notice. He is the only one who will be happy with this news Vicki.
When Shannon arrives, she tells the women that Archie has been diagnosed with brain cancer. She is hopeful that they can come up with a treatment plan and she promises that if things take a turn for the worst, she is returning home.
12 hours later, they land in Tokyo. Vicki ruins the first two minutes by throwing out a fake in a way that Vicki does and the ladies finally arrive at the hotel. Jenn and Tamra share a room, and that’s a sentence I never thought I’d write. Tamra tells Jenn that Emily was really talking about her marriage and that Shane is making her feel really lousy. If Emily isn’t happy and he continues, something has to give. Jenn wonders if Emily is doing enough when she’s around…
The ladies go to a prix-fixe dinner and they share prison stories… well Shannon and Gina do. Heather says Tamra’s party is a “success” and then retells the story of how Alexis grabbed her. Alexis told Heather they had beef. It started because of a podcast when Alexis called Heather “feckless” (Without treachery the adjective meaning ineffective, incompetent, reckless, or lacking in strength of character and determination – thanks, dictionary.com).
Jenn asks Emily about her marriage and Emily admits that they don’t sleep in the same room and she doesn’t feel close/desired to him. Shane’s snarkiness hurts her feelings and Emily has talked about divorce. Vicki explains that she left her marriage too soon and Jenn wonders if Shane is insecure about the way Emily looks today.
Emily says she is indifferent to Shane and the women tell Emily how big divorce is. Gina thinks Shane needs help because he is drowning at home. Heather understands that parents need a break sometimes and Tamra is worried about Emily’s future. After dinner, the group watches and goes to a bar for 11 seconds.
The next day, it’s clear that Emily and Shane are not on the same page. Gina is excited that the women are going to a temple and hopes that this is just what Emily needs.
Gina will be the tour guide throughout the temple, guiding the women through each step. Gina gets lucky, Heather and Jenn want to burn theirs, and Tamra gets emotional as she mentions things with her daughter that are real. But Vicki’s luck is the worst of the bunch. When Emily gets lucky, she thanks the universe for improving her life a little. I hope this good fortune continues through the rest of her life.
