Forever Yours’ Jaren Lewison talks Death Twist at Show

The first scene of the series Forever yours pulled off a big surprise – but what does that mean for the future of the show?

During the Thursday, October 8 episode of the CBS comedy program, Max (Jaren Lewison) got off on the wrong foot with Emma’s girlfriend (Helen J. Shen) parents: Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards). He quickly learned that they were vampires, and by the end of the first scene, an accident caused Charlie to bite Max, making him a vampire as well.

“There’s so much to learn, right? I think Max is really excited,” Lewison, 25, told Us exclusively what’s to come. “I know it’s hard for Emma, of course, at times, because he asks so many questions.”

He continued: “There is so much mythology that he has to get hold of and he doesn’t understand why some things have to be one way and some things have to happen in a different way.”

Shen, 26, for her part, pointed out that it is a big step to join his family’s contract because the couple has only been dating for a few months.

“Imagine that after six weeks, the person you’re dating now has moved in with you,” she said. “There’s a lot.”

Lewison couldn’t help but agree, saying, “There’s a lot to learn and Max makes mistakes by accident and by accident. Sometimes he gets the coven into trouble as we’ll see in the following episodes.”

The actor promised that the obstacles will keep coming. “Maybe on Halloween something could be happening there,” he said. “There’s a lot going on and it sometimes puts a strain on the relationship between Emma and Max, so they have to figure out how to work through that and communicate.

Shen joked that there aren’t “just so many rooms” in the house where the couple could go, with Lewison adding, “There’s not a lot of room to hide.”

From Ghosts exhibitors Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, Forever yours follows vampires Charles and Liz, whose marriage for 500 years has become monogamous.

“They live in modern-day Seattle amidst an unusual deal until their daughter Emma brings home Max, her human lover, who comes to disturb the home and make the couple think that eternity together is expected,” the synopsis teases of the rest of the season.

In addition to Weeks, Edwards, Shen and Lewison, Forever yours also stars Young Parker and Rose Abdoo.

Forever yours on CBS Thursdays at 8:30pm ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount +.
