Donald Trump Jr.ex-boyfriend, and current US Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle under investigation after she allegedly persuaded an aide of her grandfather’s father, President Donald Trumpto pay off her $100,000 credit card debt.
According to a Saturday, October 10, report from NBC News, citing two people “familiar with the matter,” the State Department’s Office of the Inspector General is investigating both Guilfoyle, 57, and the office she subsequently headed. Eric interrupts — a longtime supporter and significant financial donor to the president, 80 — accused the former Fox News personality of offering him a “quick pro quo.” (The Daily Mail the first to report the news.)
“She was so desperate for that $100,000. It was a quid pro quo,” Deters told NBC News in an interview Thursday, Oct. 8. “She said I could ask her for anything in Trump’s world. Nothing was too much to ask for.” Deters reportedly provided the news organization with PDF documents of the alleged texts and messages of Signals between the donor and Guilfoyle, supporting his claims. (The Wall Street Journal first reported on the documents on Wednesday, October 7.)
Deters claims that for months, Guilfoyle had been offering to use her influence as the president’s son’s girlfriend to help Deters get the Trump administration’s “attention” on what the The Wall Street Journal defined as “personal tax and legal matters.”
According to the outlet, as she was lobbying the head of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) “on her behalf” she said she asked him to pay her $100,000 for her credit card.
“Honey please I need you to do this for me today,” she allegedly texted Deters, according to the documents obtained by the sources. “You just put it here.”

Getty ImagesAnother reported message shows Guilfoyle allegedly telling Deters that it was better to send the money directly to her American Express account because “it won’t show up anywhere.” He says he never sent her the money allegedly requested.
Us reached out to the State Department, the White House, the US Embassy & Consulate in Greece and a legal representative for Guilfoyle for comment regarding the reported allegations and investigation but did not hear back at the time of publication.
Vice President JD Vance he commented on the alleged quid pro quo on Friday, October 9, telling reporters that the claims are only “allegations” from “one person’s story” despite the alleged physical evidence of the Guilfoyle and Deters letters.
“We’ll really see what the facts are,” he said, according to NBC News, adding that “we don’t try people in the court of public opinion.”
“We will see what the truth is, and obviously if something bad has happened, people will have to suffer the consequences for it,” he continued.

“Don and Kimberly broke up before the election and started splitting assets around the end of September,” a source exclusively said. Us at the time, saying the couple had “never discussed” their breakup publicly so as not to take away from other “important issues.”
