“Alec loves babies. Alec would have more babies if I let them,” said Alec’s wife. Hilaria Baldwintold only Us on Thursday, October 22, while attending the Gala of the Stars event benefiting Dancers Against Cancer.
Hilaria, 42, who shares seven biological children with Alec, 68, said she is delighted that her eldest child, a model Baldwin Irelandpregnant with her second child. (Alic welcomed Ireland with his first wife, Kim Basingerin 1995.)
“I’m glad Ireland is getting them because I’m like, ‘Um, this shop is closed,'” Hilaria told Us.
Hilaria said she is “so excited” to add another grandchild to the family.
“She’s such a great mom, and Holland is the cutest, cutest little thing, so I’m excited for the next baby,” she said.
Ireland, 31, welcomed daughter Holland with boyfriend and musician RAC – real name André Allen Anjos – in May 2023.
The couple announced they were expecting their second child in May 2026 by posting a joint Instagram video.
Hilaria said motherhood is “natural” for Ireland. The pair even share parenting tips.
“I feel like I ask just as much advice from her as she asks me. She has such a good compass. Definitely, much more than I did when I was a mother for the first time,” explained Hilaria. “Every once in a while, I’m like, ‘Hey, you know what? This nebulizer worked for me when Holland’s sick or something like that.’
Hilaria concluded about her granddaughter, “In the end, she’s just such a strong and good mother.
Hilaria married Alec in June 2012. The couple has seven children: three daughters, Carmen, 13, María, 5, and Ilaria, 4, and four sons, Rafael, 11, Leonardo, 10, Romeo, 8, and Eduardo, 6.
In February 2025, Alec opened up about his desire to add another baby to the mix.
“Every now and then, when the child gets older and grows up to be about 2, I look [Hilaria] and I’m going, ‘Time to have another one,'” the actor admitted to People at the time.
But his wife was not on board.
“They are so cute,” said Hilaria, “But my body is very tired.”
Later in the interview, the actor joked that he and his wife should be enjoying the high life, but they are too busy raising seven children.
“I always joke with her and say, ‘You know where I should be right now, don’t you? We should be on the Geffen yacht, drinking cappuccino and reading a book, and having dinner with Spielberg or whatever,'” he said, while Hilaria pretended they were changing diapers instead.
The world got an inside look at Alec and Hilaria’s home life when the couple and their children appeared on the TLC reality show The Baldwins. The series premiered in February 2025.
