Action movies are popular for a reason. They are fun to watch, full of impossible tasks, and present a world where characters can scale skyscrapers or jump off trains without fear. From Mission impossible to Fall Guyeveryone has their own preferences for the action movies they watch. But when combined with a filmmaker’s unique style and an emotional heart to the story, action movies can transcend the genre and become something special. John Hamm Baby Driver it did just that and more.
Baby Driver he brought new creativity to the action genre with Edgar Wrightmaking a special film. From sweeping action shots to captivating cinematography, Wright’s style elevates the story and turns it into something unforgettable. Unlike other action movies that focus on big scenes and excessive violence, Baby Driver adds a special flavor to the film. The lively atmosphere and the high story add Baby Driver in a series on its own and pushing the story in ways the audience didn’t expect.
Child Driver puts music at the heart of his activities
Paying off a debt to a powerful crime boss, Baby (Ansel Elgort) helps with heists and bank robberies as a talented getaway driver. Obsessed with music, Baby’s reclusive nature keeps him aloof from the other criminals around him, but the boss, Doc (Kevin Spacey), recognizing talent in Baby. As he falls deeper into criminal activity, Baby begins to develop a relationship with a waitress named Debora (Lily James), dreaming of the normal life the two could lead. With one more job on the line, the stakes become more dangerous and Baby’s skills as a driver are put to the test.
Baby’s dependence on music is a major part of his character, as well as the film. The past has been plagued with pain, but it found solace in what music could provide. He fostered many relationships through music, such as his foster father Joseph (CJ Jones) and with Debora. While music is at the heart of Baby’s character, the film also shows this through many important scenes. Action scenes are synchronized in time with music, giving the film a theatrical feel. There is rarely a time when music is not used in some way. The film is completely dependent on the role played by music, just like Baby.
Jon Hamm turned a side character into an unforgettable villain
In a film with a strong cast of memorable characters, it takes something special for one character to stand out among the rest. Jon Hamm’s performance as Buddy transforms a side character into something worth remembering. While he starts off friendly with Baby, as the activity turns into a tour, Buddy becomes more hostile, showing that he has a tendency to be violent. Buddy’s decline as the film progressed exceeded audience expectations of Hamm’s character. His performance as a sympathetic friend turned vicious antagonist is excellent for Jon Hamm as an actor, but it also represented the progression of the story coherently.
A heist movie is about to end with a degree of tragedy. When things go well, spirits are high, but when a heist goes bad or someone makes a mistake, things can take a dark turn. Buddy’s aggressive nature came to the fore towards the end of the film, changing how audiences had previously seen the character. The character of Buddy perfectly embodies the vulnerability of the crime gang when things got rough. When the job goes bad, Buddy determines how far he’s willing to go to get his revenge..
Baby Driver feels unique from all other action movies. It has all the right elements – fast car chases, gun fights, intense criminal activities, but this spark keeps it feeling fresh as the years go by. Even 9 years later, Baby Driver one of those movies that tells a compelling story in a new, dynamic way that keeps people coming back to it.
