Glen Powell living far, far away from the political battlefield!
The 37-year-old actor opened up about his decision not to enter politics in a lawsuit Esquire image released on Wednesday – and as you might suspect, he has his reasoning for sure close to making people talk.

In the profile, Powell explained:
“Over time, I realized that politics divides people. People trying to prove their point – to me, it’s the worst version of conversation. I really don’t like the conversation. It’s not as healthy as it once was.”
And because political discussions can be so heated, the Beyond Great star apparently doesn’t think some conversations are even “not possible right now” for him.
However, Glen does not throw shade at celebrities who use their platforms for political activism. He said:
“I applaud people for jumping into these things and fighting for what they believe in. If I were a political person, I would talk about it. For me, my calling is elsewhere.”
Okay… but is it?!
Instead of getting too political, Powell says he prefers to focus on bringing people together through his work as an actor and screenwriter. His philosophy is this:
“I want to bring people together over a common thing. I believe in what I’m doing, and I work very, very hard to make sure it’s something that audiences want. It’s not an easy thing to care that much.”
And apparently, he has plenty of support in his corner!
Speaking of which, Powell had some very sweet things to say about his girlfriend Michelle Randolphwhen he got busy praising the A landman actor to share his priorities and values.
As we reported on Thursday afternoon, during the profile piece, he said:
“Life is fast for both of us, and we have the same values. She loves her family, I love my family and we both care a lot about work.
Awww!
The couple have been romantically linked since the end of last year and made their debut on social media a few months ago, although they have largely kept their relationship private. And judging by Glen’s latest comments, things seem to be pretty tough!

He said:
“There’s something so beautiful about someone rooting for you. Someone who wants you to win in every way that’s good for you as a person. Not just professionally but in every way that’s good for your soul.”
Sooo sweet!
But back to politics…
Does Glen have the right attitude by refusing to jump into the conversation like this?? Or is it easier to pull out when you have the privilege of not bringing politics directly into your everyday life, you know?!
