Days of Our Lives indicates that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) wants to do the right thing and turn himself in. And this week, he talks to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), an FBI agent and former stepfather. And with Johnny criticizing George O’Halloran, I think he’s hoping to avoid jail time and maybe end up in some kind of witness protection with Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens).

We know that DiMera Enterprises has been a crack in Johnny’s side ever since he took the reins as CEO, especially the pharmaceutical department as his father EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) has been covering up the siege with arsenic that pharma boss George recklessly disposed of by burying it Smith’s Island. These are the evil drugs that killed Destiny’s patient Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). And the contaminated water could have killed Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) as well.
Now, luckily, Johnny left that medical book open to a page on arsenic symptoms in Sarah’s office, and she was able to save Holly’s life. But Johnny is also upset right now that EJ is targeting Sarah, trying to destroy her for the bad things George and EJ have done with this medicine mess. So, George has been pressuring Johnny to deny and deny since Sarah launched the FDA complaint about the siege scandal.

But really, Johnny is sick and tired of this cover-up because none of these are his mistakes. And his co-boss and cousin Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) recently retired. So now, Johnny is alone facing a crisis he didn’t create. And he has been lying to his wife Chanel.
She recently heard Johnny leave a very hot message for EJ that he didn’t want to be involved in this mess anymore. And now what we have is Johnny at his peak. So, he called Rafe and asked to meet. And this week Johnny has a one-on-one conversation with Rafe.
You know that he and Johnny have been very close since Rafe married Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) when Johnny was very young. Back in two thousand and eight, if you remember, Sami herself was placed in the witness protection program when she saw Salemassassinated mayor Anthony Marino. Johnny’s mother, Sami, had to leave her children, including his twins, Johnny and Allie Horton (Frances Reid). And Sami had to cut off contact with the children, at least for a while.

So, back then, FBI agent Rafe was assigned as Sami’s lead bodyguard after she drugged her former bodyguards because she was uncooperative about not being able to contact her children. So, Rafe and Sami’s relationship started to be very controversial because she was trying to send him calls Salem and Rafe had to be a strict enforcer to keep Sami safe and their relationship grew into a friendship and then she and Rafe started to develop a mutual attraction and back then Sami was already pregnant with Johnny’s little sister, Sydney DiMera (Sydney Malakeh).
And Rafe was one of the few people who knew she was carrying EJ’s child. So, Rafe helped Sami hide it from EJ, but then Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), turned Sydney with her child, Grace, who had tragically died. And then we had Nicole and EJ raising Sydney together.
But after witness protection ended, Sami was able to return to him Salem and Rafe decided to stay there too to be close to Sami. And from there, Rafe and Sami’s connection deepened into romance. They married in two thousand and ten. So, Rafe has been a part of Johnny’s life for a long time, and he knows he can trust Rafe.

Also, Johnny knows if he talks to Rafe about what’s going on at DiMera Enterprises that Rafe will do everything he can to help Johnny. But little does he know, Rafe has been investigating EJ for a long time with the help of ISA agent Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord). So, when Johnny confesses this week, will he throw his own father EJ under the bus? Or maybe just that fear George.
I mean, I’m very confident in his boss DiMera Pharmaceuticals Johnny and EJ would sell out in a heartbeat to avoid jail. George threatened Johnny more than once, saying that since you are the CEO, you will be the one who goes down if this comes out. So, George made it very clear that neither he nor EJ will pay. And we know that Johnny told his sister Sydney that he would move Chanel and the children back to Italy or somewhere else if he could. Johnny said he would do it in a heartbeat.

That’s a clear red flag. And we know that Carson Boatman and Raven Bowens, who played Johnny and Chanel, are confirmed to be leaving Days of Our Lives. Therefore, they are expected to leave very quickly. And all this DiMera trouble could be the catalyst for Johnny and Chanel to leave town.
Besides, she has cancer. And we feel sorry for Johnny’s father, EJ. So, I wonder if Rafe is going to argue to get Johnny immunity, to bring him into witness protection, which would be kind of full circle because that’s how Sami and Rafe met and he entered Johnny’s life that way. I’m sure Rafe is going to ask Johnny to testify against EJ, but George was behind most of these mistakes.
EJ was just cleaning up for the mistake. So, we’ll see how it goes. Johnny’s confession to Rafe this week could be the prelude to Johnny and Chanel packing up and leaving Salem. Therefore, Johnny appeared legal and permanently disturbed his relationship with his father, EJ. These are very good reasons for Johnny to leave town. And Rafe could help Johnny, Chanel, and the kids leave. The most natural place would be Italy. That’s an obvious choice.
Days of Our Lives: Great Fallout Ahead
So, it wouldn’t necessarily be formal witness protection, but maybe Johnny and Chanel will voluntarily move to Italy after Rafe gets Johnny an immunity deal. And since Sami is there, she would jump at the chance to help her grandchildren, Trey and Olivia. But obviously, Johnny’s confession will have other consequences.
Friday’s conversation with Rafe is the clear turning point. I would expect Johnny and Chanel to start talking about leaving Salem and they can be written out perhaps during the November sweep. I’m sure EJ will be great. I think he will be completely betrayed by Johnny. And to be fair, EJ has known for a while that Johnny doesn’t want to be forced to clean up this mess he didn’t create.

And EJ’s son is not particularly involved in destroying other people’s lives like Sarah to cover it up DiMera mistake I believe Rafe will do everything in his power to help Johnny avoid jail time, especially since his role in the coverup hasn’t gotten his hands that dirty. He left the book out to try and save Holly’s life. He lied that there were no records. You know, luckily Holly survived, but EJ and George were the ones who did the really dirty stuff.
And I think that Johnny has to admit not only to Rafe, but also to Chanel, how deeply he has been involved in the shadowy side of the. DiMera Enterprises. But I see Johnny and Chanel working as a team, protecting each other, protecting their children. And then I think soon we will see the countdown begin for Johnny and Chanel to leave Salem. Hope their marriage lasts. Maybe an immunity deal and transfer. Maybe formal witness protection. We will see.
