Days of Our Lives puts EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Dante Vitali (Franco LoPresti) to toe this week. And it looks like Sami’s girlfriend Brady (Alison Sweeney) is going to lie right in EJ’s face. And maybe Dante is actually pushing EJ to get a promotion on behalf of his best friend, Dominic Marino. Let’s talk about the confrontation between EJ and Dante.
Days of Our Lives: History and the Sami Connection
So EJ was just as surprised as Sami’s other husbands, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo), to hear that she was involved. If you remember, Sami announced her engagement to Dante Vitali in November 2025, so almost a year ago.
Fun little fact: the Italian financier is Sami Brady’s sixth marriage to date Days of Our Lives. She married Austin Reed and Brandon Walker in the late 90s and then the early 2000s. Sami’s marriage to Lucas did not last long. Then she married EJ in 2007. And then next, Sami married Rafe in 2010, before Sami came full circle and married EJ again in 2014. She and EJ divorced in 2022, and have two grown children, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Sydney DiMera (Sidney Malakeh).
And of course, Sami almost remarried Lucas, but then that terrible truth that he kidnapped came out. So, that was a non-starter. Therefore, many fans believed that Sami announced her relationship with Dante to make her ex-husband jealous.
DOOL: Dominic’s influence on Dante
But according to Sydney, who knows Dante better than anyone, her mother Sami is madly in love with Dante now. But Sydney also told EJ that Sami will always love him, which makes sense, since EJ and Sami have kids together. He is her longest romance. But with Dante’s close relationship with Dominic, that’s a concern. EJ is very wary of Dominic. He found out that he might be his brother, and that Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) might be his parents.
So, this week on Days of Our LivesDante meets his future in-laws, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Marlena. And she might have some questions for Dante, because Sydney told Marlena that Dante and Dominic were roommates back in their boarding school days. So, Marlena can dig into Dante’s background and ask him about his school days.
Days of Our Lives: Research EJ
So, we’re also going to see Dante get a stern warning from EJ this week. He’s going to tell Dante that he better not hurt Sami. But EJ is also fishing for information from Dante. In this week Days of Our Lives promo, EJ wants their names. And Dante says to him, “Don’t be afraid.” And then EJ calls him a liar. So, I wonder if he asks Dante about Dominic’s parents.
So far, as far as we’ve seen, EJ doesn’t know that Dante and Dominic are connected, but maybe someone else will fill in the blanks for EJ before he goes over to Dante’s hotel room. Or, you know, maybe Dante will drop a clue to EJ to provoke him on purpose, because EJ really wants to know if this mysterious Dominic is his brother.
He knows that Marlena has a copy of the birth certificate, so EJ wanted Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) to get a copy from Marlena any way she can. Cat doesn’t want to break Marlena’s trust, but she is curious about Dominic, and she ties up EJ. So, I expect Cat to talk to Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) about it, or Cat can be honest with Marlena and tell her what EJ asked her to do.
Dante’s Hidden Agenda on Days
So, right now, Dante is the only one with a relationship with Dominic. We saw Dante reporting to Dominic about shutting down Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) so he didn’t win too much at the poker table in Monte Carlo. And Dante lied about how close he stayed to his boarding school friend Dominic.
But I mean, come on. It can’t be a coincidence that Dante’s bestie is a mysterious DiMera, and he happens to be engaged to Sami, and Sydney has been working for him. I don’t know if Dante really likes Sami, or if the dialogue is all part of Dante helping Dominic with his DiMera album.
Days of Our Lives: EJ is extremely dangerous
EJ isn’t just a jealous husband warning his new girlfriend Sami to be right. EJ is a dangerous control capable of almost anything. Therefore, Dante should not take EJ’s threat lightly. I guess not. But maybe Dante thinks Dominic is more dangerous. And once EJ finds out that Dante and Dominic have been friends for decades, you know, EJ is going to assume the worst. It would be nice to think that Sami has finally found this wonderful, drama-free relationship with Dante, and that it is a deep love for each other, but that is increasingly unlikely.
The Brewing Showdown on DOOL
When EJ learns about the boarding school friendship, I’m sure he’s going to assume that Dante is playing with Sami’s feelings and using her. Sami is a real distraction, because if EJ is worried about protecting Sami, Dominic can beat and blind EJ while targeting Sami. And of course, without concrete evidence that she’s being used for Dominic and Dante’s agenda, Sami just thinks that EJ is acting like a jealous old man.
And I’m sure Dante will be all charm and smooth as he talks to Roman and Marlena this week. But when he talks to EJ, I think we’re going to see Dante poke and prod a little. And I wonder if he is in town setting the stage for Dominic’s arrival, and that also makes me wonder if Dante is in there. Salem for good, or if he’s going to leave again soon, either right after Dominic shows up or right before then.
Days of Our Lives: Dominic to come
Our dispatcher, at least, told us that Dominic could make his way to Salem in time for the celebration of the life of his late sister Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford), which is set for the November sweep, which, by the way, begins at the end of next week, on October 29. So Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) were just talking about plans for Lexie’s memorial, and Abe and Theo were saying that they should hold it on or near Lexie’s birthday, which marks November 10th or thereabouts as the uncertain date, right in the middle of sweeps.
And it makes sense that EJ’s brother would come to town in time for Lexie’s service, because, first of all, she’s also Dominic’s sister. Second, there should be a bunch of DiMera sisters for the occasion. And since Lexie was close to Marlena, she will be there. So, this is the best kind of time for Dominic to reveal himself to all the relevant players.
Days of Our Lives: Dominic’s Devious Plan
So, when they talk this week, I doubt Dante is going to give EJ any real information when he confronts him. And since Dante is clearly Team Dominic, and knows his best friend is coming for EJ, I’m sure Dante won’t say anything that would ruin Dominic’s chance to take over as DiMera’s heir apparent.
We know that EJ always wants to have the upper hand, but lately his grip is slipping. Undeterred, Dante reports back to Dominic that EJ missed the hospital and that Dominic arrested him Kiriakis mansion before EJ could get it.
You already know that. And I suspect that’s why Dominic backed the sale, because he knows the Kiriakis family can keep the house, which means EJ won’t get it. So I think it might have been more about Dominic making sure that Stefano’s other son didn’t get Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) house, rather than Dominic actually wanting it for himself.
Maybe Dante will also tell Dominic about EJ’s cheating Corysal cover-up, too. So, I think Dante’s confrontation with EJ should be good, and then Dominic’s confrontation with EJ should be even better.
