Yes Daisy Ridley all right? That’s what “Star Wars” fans are wondering after logging into Instagram on October 15 and finding that most of her posts are missing. The “Star Wars” alum, who portrayed Rey in the sequel trilogy, was supposed to return to the franchise in a film about the New Jedi Order. However, little has been revealed about the project since it was announced, leaving fans wondering if the sudden change is connected to a galaxy far, far away.
Daisy Ridley deletes her Instagram page except for one video
At the time of this writing, there is only one video left on Daisy Ridley’s Instagram page. It’s a collaborative post with Letterboxd featuring an exclusive clip from the movie “Magpie.” The appointment date is October 21, 2024.
“Magpie will open in NY, LA and other cities on 25 October and on 12 November digitally via @shout_studios; in the UK, premiere at @fightfestuk on 1 November and on 11 November digitally from @signatureentertainmentuk,” the post reads.
Comments on the post are still active. The latest comment came a few hours ago. A fan left one red heart emoji and wrote nothing else.
Fans take to Twitter to share their concerns
“Star Wars” fans took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to ask about his sudden absence from Instagram.
“I randomly went on Daisy’s Instagram and tell me why there are no posts,” said one fan.
“Daisy Ridley has deleted all her posts. Did someone talk to her, hurt ii? I want to know!!! wrote another fan.
“So…
“I don’t think she’s ready to take the heat for Ebenezer,” said another fan.
Ridley’s next role will be in “Ebenezer,” adapted from “A Christmas Carol.” The film, directed by Ti West, also features a strong cast of Rupert Grint, Ian McKellen, Sam Claflin, and Johnny Depp as the title star. The film was called out for its “badly irritating” tagline, but it won’t hit theaters until November 13.
This is not the first time that Daisy Ridley has left Instagram
Unfortunately, this is not the first time the “Young Woman and the Sea” actress has left Instagram. She removed herself from the platform entirely in August 2016 after being bullied online over a post she made about gun violence.
In September 2016, she told Sky that wasn’t the only reason she left the stage.
“I felt pressured,” she said. “I was like ‘I have to post. Oh my God, it’s been so many days’. It’s been great not being on it. I’m 24. I have a lot to do growing up. I have to deal with a lot of stuff myself personally. For that to be projected with millions of people watching, that’s like a little extra pressure.”
“I think some people handle it well,” she said. “Right now not for me, but who knows.”
Inside the Uncertain Future of ‘Star Wars’

Right now, Rey’s place in a galaxy far, far away remains unclear. She can appear in Shawn Levy“Star Wars: Starfighter,” starring Ryan Gosling. The film, scheduled for a May 2027 theatrical release, is the first film to take place after the events of “The Rise of Skywalker.”
Little has been announced about the future of Rey’s New Jedi Order movie after cycling through several writers. Simon Kinberg is currently writing a new trilogy, which is widely believed to be the next chapter in the Skywalker Saga. It remains to be seen what role Rey will play, or whether the trilogy will focus on a new cast of characters. John Watts tapped to lead.
Although it is unclear if Ridley will ever return to a galaxy far, far away, she has been keeping her Jedi skills sharp. Last month, she revealed that she had suffered a neck and back injury which left fans wishing her a speedy recovery.
