Clarté founder Isaac Douek designs jewelry for Alix Earle and says diamonds belong in sweatshirts

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and few know that better than Clarity of NYC Chief Isaac Douek.

Together with his wife and co-founder, Marielle Douek, the designer creates custom laboratory-grown diamond pieces that have been monitored Alix Earle and Bethenny Frankelwith a focus on making fine jewelry feel a little more within reach.

“I spent about six years working in the diamond industry before launching Clarté, so I understood the business and knew there was an opportunity to do things differently,” he told ET.

For Douek, that meant putting a new spin on the classics.

“I never understood why fine jewelry had to feel unaffordable. A woman should be able to wear a diamond size and design that she really likes without paying a big brand just because of a name on the box,” he explains.

“Laboratory-grown diamonds allow us to offer incredible size, quality and design at a much more affordable price. We’re not trying to make jewelry feel less luxurious, we’re giving more people the opportunity to experience that luxury,” said the entrepreneur.

Among the brand’s star offerings are The Alix Pear Pendant and Bethenny’s heart necklacecreated and named for a social media creator and reality television star, respectively.

“What makes it so special is that Alix and Bethenny are speaking to two different generations, but Clarté feels equally relevant to both. That really shows the versatility and dynamic nature of the brand. …

The line also has many other gems. Eternity bands, engagement rings, tennis necklaces, and diamond studs are favorites, and personalized options allow customers to choose everything from shape and carat weight to setting, metal color, and chain length.

And once you find something you love, there’s no reason to keep it tucked away in a jewelry box for a fancy night out.

“Diamonds are meant to be worn every day. You don’t need a wedding, a gala, or a special event to wear something beautiful. … If you love it and feel good wearing it, it works. …

In fact, the jeweler believes that a little sparkle can lift even the most relaxed outfit.

“The right piece of jewelry does all the work. … When you add a large diamond necklace, beautiful studs, or a stack of rings, the whole look feels elevated. …

“Mix white and yellow gold, layer different diamond shapes, and wear a tennis necklace with a sweatshirt. … The most elegant looks are usually created when someone makes their own jewelry instead of following a formula.”
