Former housekeeper Chris Brown wants the court to issue an arrest warrant
The drama surrounding Chris Brown and his multi-million dollar settlement with former housemate continues to grow, and it could lead to the ‘It Depends’ singer’s arrest. According to TMZ, Maria Avila filed documents asking the court to issue an arrest warrant for Brown.
Avila won a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Brown over a dog bite incident in 2020, and, basically, she’s saying Brown is leading the way by not providing deadlines to investigate his finances. She said in court documents that the information provided so far was incomplete and:
“raises the question of accuracy and completeness [Chris’] disclosure regarding sources of payment in connection with his ongoing tour.”
What happen?
The Shade Room said Brown was ordered to pay $12.9 million to Avila after he attacked him with his 200-pound protection dog at his home in Tarzana, California. The incident happened back in 2020, and the former housewife said that he was offended by the attack during a civil lawsuit, according to Rolling Stone.
Avila was taking out the trash when she was attacked. Brown later said he had previously told her not to go out without security. Furthermore, he admitted that he left the scene after seeing the blood to avoid a media “circus”. Brown said he heard the dog crying. After running out of the house, he saw Avila lying outside the front door. In addition, he said that she was bleeding and was not moving.
“The blood put me out,” he remembered. “a lot of blood.”
In addition, Avila said she has been diagnosed with PTSD and has severe scratches on her face and left arm. Avila also had skin graft surgery.
Avila recently agreed to less money
The Shade Room reported that Avila agreed to accept $9.5 million of her $12.9 million settlement in September 2026. She received $12.9 million in June 2026. However, Brown’s lawyers filed a motion for a new trial, calling the amount excessive. A Superior Court judge in Los Angeles agreed that the amount was excessive and approved the move on Tuesday, September 29, according to the Los Angeles Times. The judge gave Avila the option of going to trial over the settlement or accepting $9.5 million, and she chose the money. However, judging from her registration, it would seem that she is ready to wait for the dough.
