Bethenny Frankel accused of stealing her Skinnygirl brand name Joy Behar on Wednesday’s episode of The View.
Years after her and Sunny Hostin57, involved in a public controversy because of Sunny’s suggestion that the 55-year-old woman Real Housewives of New York City alum shouted at one of her children on the beach, Joy, 83, said Bethenny “stole” Skinnygirl, explaining that she gave him the nickname Debbie Matenopoulos51, “skinny b*tch” years before Bethenny’s brand launched.
“It is to be with us back at the table The Viewthe original young man, Debbie Matenopoulos,” Joy announced on the September 30 episode of The View, via Entertainment Weekly.
As fans may know, there was Debbie, who was filling in for Whoopi Goldberg70, into a team The View when she was 21.
“You’re forever young, lovable, and forever a thin b*tch,” Joy continued. “She’s always been the b*tch of the show.”
Joy then said she came up with the title for Debbie.
“And then someone stole that idea and made a whole diet book about it,” she said.
Bethenny launched her Skinnygirl brand in 2009, more than a decade after Debbie joined the show, but, as Entertainment Weekly reported, Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin release a book with the title Tired b*tch in 2005.
“Joy has quite the bone of contention with her. You always say something!” Debbie responded to Joy’s accusation.
Alyssa Farah Griffin37, a former White House staffer, also got in on the action, noting that women from The View “I had a little beef with Bethenny at this table,” Joy said of Sunny’s feud with Bethenny
On a program of The View in 2019, Sunny talked about her drama with Bethenny on the beach.
“It was in the middle of the day and my child was around 7 playing with other children at around 2 o’clock in the afternoon and she said that her child was swimming inside with the window open and that our children were too loud on the beach,” Grianach recalled. “I went out there and stood in front of my child and yelled at her and told her adults to talk to adults, and she knows I’m telling the truth.”
But after making her claim, Bethenny appeared on it Watch what’s happening livewhere she suggested that Sunny “had been drinking or taking drugs” when she made the allegations and clarified that “[didn’t] know” Sunny.
In response, Sunny went to X to suggest she had “witnesses” and “receipts” and to accuse Bethenny of “damaging”.
