Anne Hathaway reflects on how she has changed throughout her career after a busy year starring in five films.
Hathaway told “CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King that she had “no idea” she would have five movies coming out this year, saying she was worried it would be “a little” too much for people. Hathaway’s latest film, “Verity,” premieres Friday.
“That requires a lot of people to look at you for a long time, but then I thought to myself, ‘What if it goes better than you can imagine?’ ” said Hathaway.
Looking back on her career, Hathaway said she learned to “relax” and was “more open to the sport.”
“It’s just about the feeling and the connection you have with other people. And I wish I had realized that earlier in my life, but I’m so grateful that I did,” Hathaway said.
Embrace her motherly style
Anna Hathaway credited Rihanna for inspiring her maternity look during her back-to-back press tours, saying the music star “changed the game”.
“When I saw what she was doing with her maternity style, I realized I needed to use my imagination and go out there and have more fun,” Hathaway said.
Hathaway said she is weeks away from welcoming her third child with husband Adam Shulman.
“We’re on our way. We’re on our way.
Her “horrific and eerie” role in “Verity”
Hathaway said collaboration was key when filming “Verity,” a psychological thriller adapted from Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel. Hathaway plays Verity Crawford, a renowned author who is incapacitated after an accident.
“When I knew that my work was going to be very still in the frame and I didn’t have the ability to move around and work and work with the audience, collaboration became everything,” she said, adding that the small details in each scene became important.
Hathaway said they were “jumping in with both feet and figuring out how to make these scenes scary and eerie.”
