Bravo Fan Fest was held last weekend in Charleston, South Carolina, and it was one of Bravo’s biggest events.
The day consisted of many panels with Bravolebrities, where many hot topics arose.
During one panel, a Bravo head honcho Andrew Cohen asked how many housewives have left their own franchises.
He threw a question at the women who were sitting with him, who made the best educated guesses about the number.
Andrew, 58, insisted that “a little,” he announced Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Caroline Manzo.
When someone called The Real Housewives of Potomac alum Candiace Dillard as someone who had chosen to leave, Andy did not accept that as a fact.
Instead, he shrugged and repeated that “it’s been a while.”
This made people think that he was claiming that Candiace, 39, had been fired.
Former Bravo producer Patrick Macdonaldwho has previously spilled behind-the-scenes secrets, commented on an Instagram post with the clip.
“Hi. West RHOP producer here who worked on Candiace’s last 2 seasons. 👋🏼,” he wrote.
Patrick said, “In the last season of @therealcandiace, when we were on a casting trip in the Dominican Republic, I vividly remember staying up and talking to Candiace until 5 in the morning as she weighed the pros and cons of whether or not she wanted to return to the show.
“She seriously considered leaving the show in that final season,” he continued. “And I also remember chatting with her when she decided in the end that it wasn’t worth it for her and her family to come back. So if Bravo didn’t want her to come back, parting ways was the worst part.”
Patrick ended his message by criticizing Andy, saying it was “just another example of Andy Cohen rewriting the narrative after the fact and trying to damage the word and reputation of another woman of color in an effort to discredit her for not touting the company line, which he did to several women who had the courage to speak out about the problematic culture at Bravo. 🌈.
Andy has yet to respond to Patrick’s comments, and Candiace has yet to put her two cents into the whole ordeal.
