Amy Schumer and her Chris Fischer are officially divorced.
Several outlets reported Friday that Schumer and Fischer, a chef, had finalized their divorce nine months after announcing their separation. Page Six first shared the news, reporting that the couple previously filed for divorce in New York on Thursday, which was signed by the court. (Entertainment every week (has reached out to representatives for Schumer for comment.)
The A train wreck star announced last December that she and Fischer were divorcing after seven years of marriage.
“Blah blah blah Chris and I made the difficult decision to end our marriage after seven years,” Schumer wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.”

The comedian went on to shut down speculation about the split, saying that she has recently lost weight as well as the success of Fischer’s team. Beetlebung Farm Cookbookwhich won the 2016 James Beard Award for American Cooking.
“Blah blah not because I dropped a few lbs and thought I could bag a basket and not because it’s hot. [James Beard] An award winning chef who can still pull a hot tail,” she wrote. “Friendly and all love and respect! family forever.”
Reps for Schumer and Fischer did not immediately respond to EW’s request for further comment at the time.
Schumer and Fischer were first romantically linked in 2017. They married in 2018 and welcomed their son, Gene, in 2019.
The comedian said Fischer is on the autism spectrum in her 2021 stand-up special, Amy Schumer growing up. Earlier last December, she said that her relationship might be on the rocks, but clarified that the couple’s status had nothing to do with that diagnosis.
“Whatever happens to me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories on December 1.

In that same post, Schumer openly reflected on her 50-pound weight loss. “I had a disease that makes your face very puffy that could kill you, but the Internet caught it, and the disease has disappeared,” she wrote in reference to her 2024 diagnosis of Cushing’s syndrome.
“Sorry for whatever feeling it gives you that I lost that weight,” the actor continued. “I’ve had plastic surgery over the years and practice [Mounjaro],” which is a blood sugar medication that can also be used for weight management. “Sorry to anyone who drops it.”
