Gypsy Rose Blanchard she opened up about her ideal future wedding Kenneth Urcare months before her ex-husband died at the age of 34.
“I don’t want to have a quick wedding, I want to have the big wedding,” said Blanchard, 35. TMZ in an interview in May.
“I want to have the poofy dress, I want to have the family, because I had my first marriage, I got married in the visiting room next to the prison bathroom,” Blanchard continued at the time. “I deserve my wedding.”
Blanchard and Ken started out as pen pals while the former was behind bars for her role in her mother’s murder in 2015, Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. After watching the HBO documentary Dead and Dearest Mommy in 2017, Ken wrote a letter of support to Gypsy Rose while she was serving her seven-year sentence.
After visiting Gypsy Rose in prison, Ken later proposed in October 2018. They split the following year, and Gypsy Rose moved on with Ryan Andersonwhom she married in a prison ceremony in July 2022. When Gypsy Rose and Anderson’s marriage fell apart in early 2024, she reconciled with Ken and the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Aurora, that December.

Getty ImagesUs confirmed that Urker was found unresponsive in his Raceland, Louisiana, residence on Thursday, October 1, his 34th birthday. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed Urker’s death, stating Us their officers responded to a “residence” after receiving a “call at 6:15 p.m.”
Authorities said Urker “was found dead on arrival” and added, “At this time, we are continuing the death investigation.” A report from Louisiana’s Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, obtained by Usincludes interviews with Gypsy Rose’s half-brother, Dylan Blanchardand his wife, Anita Blanchard.
Anita called 911 for help when Urker didn’t answer his phone or the door to his apartment after she and Dylan, along with Urker’s boss Justin Daiglehe tried to look at it. Anita told an emergency dispatcher that Dylan and Daigle were able to move some of the blinds to get into the residence through a window, where they found Urker unconscious and “cold to the touch,” according to the report.
In their report, Lafourche Parish police detailed a conversation officers had with Dylan and Anita once they began investigating Urker’s death. The couple confirmed that Urker had gone to church with them around 8:45pm local time on Wednesday, September 30.
“They said Mr. Urker made comments that he was depressed and confused,” the report said.
Gypsy Rose broke her silence after Urker’s death, telling People she doesn’t know if his death was “intentional or not.”
“He hasn’t been in a good state of mind lately,” Blachhard told the outlet. “I’m in disbelief. I can’t think. I screamed until my throat burned.”
While he is talking to TMZ back in May about her upcoming wedding to Urker, Gypsy Rose discussed the pressure she said they both felt to get married.
“I feel like I don’t feel pressure from him, he doesn’t feel pressure from me, so we don’t put pressure on each other, but I feel like the world,” she said at the time. “I feel like the world just keeps asking that question and it’s really stupid because, you know, what happens if we’re one of those couples that, you know — we don’t want to get married right away. We don’t want to rush it.”
She said, “Our relationship feels like a marriage – we’re raising a child together, we live together – but there are a lot of couples, even in Hollywood, who have been together 30-plus years and still aren’t married.
