Brandon “Bug” Hall reaching out to help as he and his wife prepare to welcome their sixth child.
The former child star, 41, launched a GoFundMe campaign on Thursday, November 5, in an effort to raise money to cover expenses related to their growing up and to help set up their new home.
Hall shared through the GoFundMe campaign that he was hesitant at first to create the fundraiser but had gotten to the point where he felt it was needed.
“It’s been six years now since I sent myself away, and I’ve been avoiding one of those all that time. I always said it was my choice, so I didn’t want to unload the glorious burden of it if there was no other option. Well here we are,” Hall, best known for his role as Alfalfa in The Little Rascalswrite
Hall said he and his family were working hard to find their feet in their new home in rural Arkansas but challenges had arisen.
“We’ve gotten into the new territory in record time, but I’m a few supplies short of working properly, and I’ve fallen a little behind on our few bills (phone, propane for the camper, and an unexpected electric hookup service charge),” he explained.
Hall continued, “We’re all very happy to be where we are, and we’re even enjoying being rough, but baby six is less than a month away, and I really need some help getting the last bits down beforehand.
The father of five said he wanted to sort everything out before his wife was born and admitted that he is not the only one who is making it difficult at the moment.
“I’m hoping to wrap everything up here over the next couple of weeks so I can catch up on some work until the baby arrives,” he wrote. “Everyone has hard times, and I don’t deserve it more than anyone else, but I ask in your charity that you help where you can, whether it’s financially, by sharing this, or by prayer and sacrifice for the Hall-Barnetts of Holy Cross.”
The GoFundMe’s stated goal has been set at $2,000. At the time of publication, Hall had received more than $9,000 from 102 donations.
Hall’s campaign comes after he was arrested in Ohio in April after failing to appear in court, according to multiple reports.
The actor missed a December 31, 2024, court date set for October 29, 2024, a traffic citation for driving without liability insurance. He was charged with failure to appear.
Hall left Hollywood behind in 2020 in an effort to embrace a self-described “Catholic militant” off-the-grid lifestyle while reportedly taking a “vow of poverty.” the Daily Mail.
