Tim Curry’s most iconic role will officially become one of Prime Video’s biggest hits

Halloween weekend has remembered the world of one of the late Tim Curryin his most iconic performances. In August, it was announced that Curry had died at the age of 80, and the world mourned the tragic loss of one of cinema’s greatest actors. Curry’s influence on the industry has been long and well debated, including his iconic role as Pennywise in the 1990 miniseries based on Stephen Kingand ITachieved as Darkness in Ridley Scottand Legendas Mr. Hector was there Home Alone 2: Lost in New Yorkand like Wadsworth in the classic murder mystery Hearing.

But no achievement in Curry’s impressive catalog completely defines his career as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, both in the stage musical and the special film adaptation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. From the moment “The Time Warp” ends, the elevator drops, and Curry’s Frank-N-Furter begins his iconic “Sweet Transvestite,” cinema history is made. One of the best characters ever introduced is still delighting audiences more than five decades on, especially during the scary season.

At the time of this writing, The Rocky Horror Picture Show has returned to the streaming charts, growing one of the most watched movies on Amazon in the US. Star Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon like Brad and Janet, The Rocky Horror Picture Show might be considered a classic today, but it was originally a box office flop. However, its relevance in pop culture and its reputation as a safe haven for marginalized communities has made it one of the most important musical films of all time. There really isn’t anything else like it The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Friday the 13thJason VoorheesCamp Crystal Lake · Friday the 13th, 1980Unstoppable, but he never changes the plan.

Jason is relentless, but he is also predictable, and that is the gap you would exploit. Why you live longer

  • It moves in straight lines towards its target. He does not strategize, he does not change, he does not transcend. It just continues.
  • Your ability to keep moving, use the environment, and resist the panic that freezes most people gives you a real edge.
  • The survivors of Crystal Lake were always the ones who stopped running in circles and started thinking about land, water and distance.
  • You think so. That means that Jason, to be inevitable, would face someone who simply refused to be where he expected.

From The Collider File

  • Crystal Lake, the Peacock prequel series, dropped all eight episodes on October 15, 2026.
  • It ended a gap of 17 years, the longest the franchise has ever gone without a new entry.

HalloweenMichael MyersHaddonfield, Illinois · Halloween, 1978It’s already in the frame. All you have to do is look.

Michael looks before he moves. It’s patient, systematic, and almost impossible to detect, until it’s too late for anyone who isn’t paying enough attention. Why you live longer

  • But you pay attention. You notice the shape in the window, the car parked a little wrong, the silence where there should be sound.
  • Michael’s power lies in the invisibility of ordinary suburbia, because nothing ever seems wrong until it already is.
  • Your spatial awareness and instinct for every room, every exit, and every shadow before you need them is exactly the quality that Laurie Strode possessed.
  • You are not a target waiting to happen. You are someone who already suspects that something is wrong, and takes action on it.

From The Collider File

  • John Carpenter is making a new Halloween movie with Blumhouse and Miramax.
  • The 1978 mask was a store-bought Captain Kirk mask, enlarged at the eyes and painted white.

Night on Elm StreetFreddy KruegerElm Street · A Nightmare on Elm Street, 1984He needs you excited. You are sorry to spoil it.

Freddy wins by getting into your head, using your own fears, your own memories, your own subconscious against you. That strategy requires a target that can be unstable. Why you live longer

  • You are more difficult to be unstable than most. You’ve faced uncomfortable truths about yourself and you haven’t looked away.
  • The survivors on Elm Street were always the ones who understood what was happening and chose to face it rather than run away from it.
  • Freddy’s greatest weakness is that his power evaporates in the presence of someone who refuses to give him the fear that feeds him.
  • Your psychological strength, the ability to stay grounded when reality itself becomes unreliable, is the very quality that will keep you alive here.

From The Collider File

  • Paramount set a new A Nightmare on Elm Street moving in July 2026, with Wes Craven’s estate involved.
  • Craven based the original on newspaper reports of people who were so terrified of their own nightmares that they refused to fall asleep.

Staying LucidFacing itElm Street

he isPennywiseDerry, Maine · It, 1990He eats fear. You do not serve any.

Pennywise is ancient, shape-shifting, and fear-mongering, but he has one critical vulnerability: he can’t work against someone who actually stops being afraid. Why you live longer

  • The Losers Club didn’t survive because they were braver than everyone else. They survived because they faced their fears together, and they faced them honestly.
  • You ask the questions that others avoid. You look directly at what scares you rather than turning away.
  • That direction, to reject the fear of gathering in the dark, is Pennywise’s worst nightmare.
  • He chose the wrong target when he chose you. You are just the type of person whose fear tastes like nothing at all.

From The Collider File

  • HBO has renewed it: Welcome to Derry for a second season, with Bill Skarsgard back under the covers.
  • The showrunners have said that season two reaches further back, to younger versions of the characters from the first season.

Children’s PlayChuckyChicago · Child’s Play, 1988Everyone laughs. You are not laughing.

Chucky’s biggest advantage is that no one takes him seriously until it’s already too late. It takes advantage of the gap between how something looks and what it really is.Why you live longer

  • You don’t have that gap. You take threats seriously no matter how they appear, and you never make the mistake of underestimating something because of size or appearance.
  • Chucky relies on surprise, on the delay between recognition and response. You close that delay faster than almost anyone.
  • Your instinct to treat everything you don’t know with appropriate skepticism, instead of dismissing it because it looks unusual, is the very quality that keeps you breathing.
  • Against Chucky, laughter has already won. You are very good not to laugh.

From The Collider File

  • Don Mancini is writing the next Chucky movie and plans to direct it himself, aiming back at the weaker end.
  • Brad Dourif has voiced the doll since 1988 and has said he has no plans to stop.
