Taishia Adams she shared why she might be forced into the upcoming New York City marathon.
Posting through her Instagram Stories on Thursday, October 29, Tayshia, 36, shared her concerns that her health might prevent her from participating in the event because her “body type is involved.”
“I don’t know what day it is. I can’t even talk because I’m just all over the place. I don’t know what day it is and it’s crazy to me that the marathon is this weekend,” she said. “I wish I felt prepared for this time, I feel all over the place, and you know, we’re just going with the punches.”
Taishia noted that this year’s NYC Marathon, which takes place on Sunday, November 1, is expected to be her fourth time in the event – which helped calm her nerves.
“This is my fourth time so I wasn’t as worried as I normally would be because I know what to expect so that’s great but this year the way my body is acting,” she explained. “I hit it a few weeks ago but I have an autoimmune disease and unfortunately stress kind of causes a flare up and for me, a flare up looks like extreme fatigue plus a lot of joint pain, unfortunately.”
She then added, “And I need my joints this weekend, especially my knees.”

“It’s something I’ve just learned to deal with. But it’s really hard on a weekend like I’ve been expecting for months now and that means a lot to me, one of my favorite things is running, I’ve been running high school, college, everything,” she continued.
Taishia said that having no control over how her body felt was one of the most difficult aspects to face in this situation.
“It’s really hard to ride out because there’s not much you can do about it and that’s probably the most frustrating part for me,” she said.
Taishia said, “I’m trying to be as positive as I can.”
Last year, Taishia ran the NYC Marathon, with a recorded time of 4:44:54.
Before her run, she took to Instagram to express her excitement and share a video of her gear laid out on her bed while she pretended to sleep. “‘Be the night before race day 💤,” she wrote in the caption.
