Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder she made headlines for her new show Stassi’s house this year.
Much of the buzz when the show came on focused on issues between Stassi, 38, and her husband, Beau Clark46.
Stassi recently spoke with Us Magazine to look back on the first season of the show.
In particular, she spoke about breaking the fourth wall, admitting that it was a conscious choice she had made.
She said. “I’ve been doing this for a long time, so to pretend that there are no cameras and producers felt very strange to me.
She also admitted that she was intentional about showing every part of her life, including the rawest.
“I went into this knowing that I was going to put everything out there, because otherwise there would be no need to do the show,” Stassi said. “If I just wanted to show the polished version of my life, I could just post on Instagram. The audience is smart. They know when the whole truth isn’t being put out there.
Stassi also talked about her marriage and how Beau is doing now, because she said he was “fine” and that they talked about things after filming.
“By the time the show started, we had already worked together a lot,” Stassi said. “I think we both feel really good about where we are right now and we’re in the most honest place we’ve ever been.”
“I think any time you put a group dynamic on television, there’s going to be conversations afterwards. We all have to look back on certain moments and see the other person’s perspective. And if we get a season 2, I’m sure there will be plenty more to unpack,” she said.
The longtime reality star, who has been on TV since 2013, also reflected on what the experience of being in the genre has taught her.
“I’ve learned that I’m really resilient. I can handle a lot – everything from moments of humiliation to the occasional reality check,” she said. “I’ve also learned that being self-aware doesn’t necessarily mean that I stop doing the thing…it just means that I know exactly what I’m doing while I’m doing it.”
As for the second season of Stassi’s house along the way, she noted that there is no “official news” yet.
“I would like to continue,” she explained. “I would like people to see more of my life with Beau and the kids, more of my friendship and obviously more of the fun. I think we’ve found that I can bring the emotional chaos, so maybe we’ll have a little more fun next time. “
