Nicole Taylormember of country music trio Taylor Red, has died after a battle with breast cancer. She was 35.
Nicole’s triplet sisters, Nika and Natalie Taylorannounced her death in a video shared via TikTok and Instagram on Monday, November 2.
“We are saddened to announce the passing of our sister Nicole Taylor,” said Nika. “We honestly thought she would be healed here on Earth, but now she’s healed in heaven.”
The sisters revealed that Nicole was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer in 2022.
“It was kind of aggressive. In her words, when she first found out, it was, ‘God is going to use this for His glory,'” Natalie said.
Nika continued, “She fought without fear, and she said, ‘We are not going to be afraid this whole time.’ And she even did CrossFit while doing her chemo treatment. She responded well to treatments, and was declared disease-free. “
Nicole’s health then took a turn for the worse, and her illness progressed to stage IV.
“She tried not to be afraid, she stayed very positive. She traveled, she tried to live life, she worked hard, she tried to have fun,” said Natalie.
Nine months later, Nicole was told she had “about three months” to live.
“And if the treatments worked, they didn’t know how long after that,” Nika explained, while Natalie remembered their sister telling the doctor, “Everyone is going to give birth, and I’m ready for that.
The sisters then shared a clip of Nicole in her 20s talking about her faith, which she said helped her through her cancer battle.
“She lived about a year after that prognosis, and during the worse diagnosis, we felt that we were not living in fear and praying for healing, and God encouraged us in so many ways,” said Natalie.
Nika concluded, “He was with us and Nicole before she died. She said she had so much peace, and we’re really thankful for that. We’re still in shock and we didn’t think this would happen, but we know she’s not suffering anymore, and we have God’s promise of a final recovery.”
In a YouTube video on Monday, Nika and Natalie became emotional as they described Nicole’s diagnosis as a “huge shock”.
“We’re still processing everything,” Natalie said. “This, honestly, feels very difficult to talk about, but we are going to do our best to share her story.”
Taylor Red formed in 2010 and went viral on TikTok during the COVID-19 pandemic for their comedy skits and musical challenges. They are best known for their tracks “Country Money” and “Rent Free”.
