Quentin Tarantino he has a script in mind for his next film, but he is taking his time.
The 63-year-old filmmaker, who has long said he plans to stop directing films after his tenth film, shared an update when he appeared on The Graham Norton Show is free on Friday (October 16).
For now, the priority is his first play, The Popinjay Cavalier.

“I’ve written a script that I really like, but I want to do the play and see who I am,” Quentin said, per Different.
After that, he plans to spend time with his family and “stay a little” before returning to another movie quest.

What is Quentin Tarantino’s Stage Play about?
The Popinjay Cavalier written and directed by Quentin and stars Sacha Baron Cohen.
According to the production’s official website, the comedy takes place in Europe in the 1830s. It follows an actor whose trip to perform in Paris takes a perilous journey after he makes indecent comments about the French.
Quentin told Graham that he first started writing the story as a screenplay before realizing that it would work as a play.
“I’m very happy with the results,” he said The Graham Norton Show is free.
“I want to keep the story a bit under wraps but it’s jumping away from the swashbuckling movie genre with a French farce quality to it. I think it’s going to be really good.”
The production is scheduled to run at the Phoenix Theater in London, beginning with previews on February 23, 2027 before its official opening night on March 18, 2027 through its final performance on June 13, 2027.
