Teddy Mellencamp he underwent upper blepharoplasty, which removes excess skin from the eyelid, amid his cancer battle.
After her plastic surgeon, based in Beverly Hills Dr. Sammela Sundershared graphic photos taken of the 45-year-old The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Alum, Teddi took to social media to confirm the procedure and to assure fans that her doctors gave her the go-ahead to go under the knife.
“My phone is blowing up from loud bleph questions … What I can tell you is that I don’t have to keep answering, of course it was okay with my cancer doctors, that’s why I agreed to do it,” said Teddi on her Instagram story on October 13.
Although Teddi, who was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2022 and was diagnosed with tumors in her brain and lungs in 2025, said she is cancer free, she is still undergoing cancer treatment.
While sharing her behind-the-scenes photos of Teddi’s procedure on Tuesday, Dr. Sarmela Sunder decision of the former reality star to do the surgery.
“Teddi had noticed that the skin on her upper thighs had been taking a lot of weight over the past two years. For many people, changes in weight (due to natural causes, pregnancy, prolonged steroid use, medications) can lead to skin laxity,” she explained. “To compensate for the laziness, she had been raising her eyebrows involuntarily to try to move her roof out of her visual field. Of course, that leads to horizontal lines on her face, but more importantly, it made her face and face feel very tired at the end of the day.”
“The face feeling tired is a common complaint I hear from patients who need upper blepharoplasty or a brow lift,” continued the surgeon. “Another thing she noticed was that she couldn’t wear eye makeup without it moving to the upper part of her lid. Even though she wanted this procedure for a bit, we wanted to wait until she was medically cleared by her oncologists.
“Thank you for documenting the process and sharing it so that it might help someone else who is considering the same procedure,” she said.
