Miranda Kerr glowing as she could heal after her first love Christopher Middlebrookin his death.
“We were all very close. Like my boyfriend’s family and my whole family,” Kerr, 43, recalled in Us“special preview of the Tuesday, November 3rd episode of the program”Not skinny but not fat” podcast hosted by Amanda Hirsch. “When [my uncle] I told the news, I remember my world just stopped, and I remember seeing the man outside mowing the lawn, and I think, ‘This is so strange. My world has stopped, but other people’s worlds are still going on.”
Kerr and Middlebrook were high school sweethearts and had been dating for two years before things changed forever.
When she sat down with Hirsch, 38, the KORA Organics founder reminded the audience that her then-boyfriend died in a car accident when he was a teenager.
“There was a crane on the side of the road, and it was a full moon, and he had taken his car off the road, like, the week before, because of something with the headlight, so he didn’t have his headlights on,” Kerr explained. “By the time he saw the tree, he killed it immediately. So it was.”
To this day, Kerr – who shares Flynn, 15, with an old man Orlando Bloom and Hart, 8, Myles, 7, and Pierre, 2, with her husband Evan Spiegel – recalls going to her grandmother’s house shortly after learning of Middlebrook’s death and processing what had just happened.

Not skinny but not fat“I was writing him a letter to put in with him when he was buried, and in part of that letter, I had said, ‘My first son will carry your name,’ and that’s why Flynn Flynn Christopher,” Kerr said. “Amazingly, I feel that Chris, like, looks after my son, Flynn, and is very protective of him. Flynn wears pendants, St. Christopher, too.”
Kerr still talks to Middlebrook parents at least once a month. The open communication has helped her to grieve and move on with her life.
“We grew up together. He was my first love, and all over the world, I think it’s been very healing for his family and me to live close,” she said. “I always send my mom a little sunflower emoji because that was the flower that is so representative of it. He’d come to my house with this big sunflower, and it’s, like, the size of my head, the flower itself, and he’d pull it out on the farm, roots and everything.”
