‘Looksmaxxing’ influencer known as ‘Clavicular’ charged with rape in Massachusetts

BOSTON — The “Clavicular” social media influencer, who gained a following promoting the “lookmaxxing” movement online, has been charged in Massachusetts with raping a 17-year-old girl who told police she was pregnant after he gave her alcohol at his family’s Cape Cod home.

Braden Peters, 20, is charged with rape, furnishing an object for sexual intercourse and furnishing alcohol to a person under the age of 21 in the alleged assault on May 23, 2025, in Chatham, according to court records. A clerk-judge found probable cause on the charges on September 4, and a criminal complaint was issued on September 8.

Peters’ publicist did not immediately return an email request for comment Tuesday, nor did the teenagers’ attorneys. Peters, who is not in custody, is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 14 in Orleans District Court.

The prosecutor told Chatham police that she and Peters started messaging on Instagram and that he then paid to appear in “looksmaxxing” videos that he streamed online. She said Peters knew she was 17 but asked her to tell his viewers she was 18 and that the vodka he gave her was water, according to a police report.

On May 23, 2025, the girl said she took a train ride from her grandparents’ home to the Peters family home on Morris Island, a gated community of multimillion-dollar homes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. She told police that Peters’ mother and grandmother greeted her before Peters was taken to his room, where he was streaming live on Twitch.

She told police she drank what she believed to be two or three shots of vodka and was getting increasingly drunk. An official who reviewed clips from Peters’ live stream said one showed the girl saying to Peters, “Wait I’m so lazy though.” Peters replied, “It’s okay,” before the two kissed, according to the police report.

After the live stream ended, she said, they went to his bedroom, where she later fell asleep and woke up the next morning to Peters raping her.

The alleged assault was previously detailed in a lawsuit filed against Peters in Florida in April. The lawsuit also accuses Peters of later injecting the girl with a fat-dissolving substance in a live stream without permission. Peters has denied the lawsuit’s allegations.

Peters, who is the face of the “looksmaxxing” movement, is a well-known social media and Internet personality whose pursuit of traditional attractiveness by any means necessary became a topic of great interest and conversation early this year.

He streams his activities live almost every day, often streaming his time at parties and clubs or talking to women. He has the largest following on TikTok, Instagram and the streaming platform Kick.

“Looksmaxxing” has origins that go back to the “involuntary celibate” or “incel” community, an online subculture made up of people, especially men, who believe that society is unfairly denying them sexual or romantic attention. Peters has denied being affiliated with the group in any way and has said many times that lookmaxxing is about self-improvement.
