Kourtney Kardashian Called Out by Mac Ruling Over ‘Fake’ Time

Kourtney Kardashian may be used to cameras following her every move, but her 11-year-old son, Reign Disick, isn’t afraid to question what they’re filming. During the Oct. 29 episode of “The Kardashians,” the reality star was enjoying a quiet sunset with her youngest child, Rocky, when Reign interrupted the peaceful moment with an unexpected accusation.

The preteen suggested that his mother only accepted the scene because the cameras were rolling, even addressing her as “bro” while questioning her behavior. Kourtney, however, had an explanation that quickly left her son rethinking his expectations.

The hilarious exchange unfolded during a family trip to Palm Springs, where Kourtney and her husband, Travis Barker, were preparing to attend a Blink-182 concert. Before heading out, the 47-year-old reality star stepped out with her sleeping 23-month-old son, Rocky, to enjoy the sunset.

according to PEOPLEReign followed his mother outside and immediately questioned what she was doing.

“Mom, what are you doing?” he asked.

Kourtney explained that she was just “looking at the beautiful view.”

But Reign wasn’t convinced.

“Bro, you never do this. You only do this [for the cameras],” he replied, referring to the production team.

The usual family time commentary turned into a hilarious exchange, with Reign openly questioning whether his mother was putting on a show for their reality show.

Instead of getting upset with her son, Kourtney gave a simple explanation.

“I was out here, and they found me,” she told Reign, referring to the camera crew. Her response seemed to catch him off guard.

“Oh. Damn,” Reign replied, admitting that he may have jumped to conclusions.

As AND! News reportedly, Reign also accused his mother of trying to “be sensitive” as the cameras caught her enjoying the sunset. The comment made the exchange especially funny because Reign wasn’t just teasing Kourtney about watching the scenes. He questioned whether she had created a beautiful moment for television. Kourtney insisted that the filming was a coincidence, insisting that she had already stepped outside before the crew followed her. The interaction gave viewers a glimpse of Reign’s laid-back personality during one of his occasional appearances on the family’s Hulu series.

Reign’s comments also touched on something Kourtney has discussed herself: the challenge of keeping her family life private while appearing in a reality television series. Having appeared on television since “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” premiered in 2007, the mother of four has spent nearly two decades sharing parts of her personal life with viewers. However, her attitude towards filming has changed a lot over the years. During an appearance in 2024 on “The Bossticks” podcast, Kourtney recalled how difficult the family’s earlier filming schedule was.

“It was like filming every day all day no matter what,” she explained.

Eventually, she began to establish boundaries around her children’s habits and family time. The reality star explained that activities like morning carpools and family dinners became priorities that she didn’t want to interrupt filming. Kourtney also explained being more selective about what she allows cameras to capture. Instead of production crews documenting every part of her day, she said she now prefers to invite them to special filming activities. That approach, she explained, allows her to take part in the show without feeling shy about the intrusion into her personal life.

Kourtney has also faced criticism over how much of her children’s lives she chooses to share publicly. When she appeared in 2022 on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, the reality star faced accusations that she was not spending enough time with her children simply because they were not often featured on her social media accounts.

“I see comments all the time that I’m never with my kids, and I don’t like posting my kids on social media,” she explained.

Her comments highlighted the difference between what viewers see online and what happens away from the cameras. Kourtney shares Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, and Reign with her ex, Scott Disick. She also shares Rocky with Barker, who she married in 2022. Although her children occasionally appear on “The Kardashians,” Kourtney has been increasingly vocal about choosing the family moments she wants to share. Reign’s sunset comments provided a humorous example of how familiar her children have become with television cameras.

The Palm Springs track brought Kourtney’s family together ahead of Barker’s performance with Blink-182. The drummer has appeared often with his wife on “The Kardashians”, with the couple documenting their marriage and the arrival of their son Rocky. Kourtney has also continued to share select moments from family vacations with her Instagram followers. In August, she posted photos from a trail ride that included Mason walking over rocky terrain, Barker spending time with Rocky, and the older kids enjoying water activities.

“Big family vacation girl,” she told the gathering.

That same month, Kourtney shared a silver bikini photo showing off her figure while breastfeeding.

“I do [red heart emoji] my breastfeeding body,” she wrote.
