Janelle Brown was surprised by her boyfriend’s unexpected attention
The reality star recalled texting a friend after she and Pete had been talking for a few weeks. She told her friend that he “remembers what I say” and “remembers what I do and asks me about it.” Janelle then asked, “Is that normal?”
Her friend explained that remembering these details was normal behaviour. Janelle revealed that the gesture feels unfamiliar to her, especially after her previous relationship. She admitted that she was surprised that someone paid attention to what she told him.
The actress explained that she had no intention of meeting Pete on a blind date arranged by her friend Alice. She hadn’t spoken to him beforehand and she hadn’t even seen his picture. Alice showed Pete a picture of her before but asked him not to look up.
They finally met for dinner at The Stratosphere, where they were also joined by Christine Brown Woolley and her husband, David. Pete asked how the women knew each other.
Christine then explained that they had been married to the same man. PEOPLE revealed that Janelle leaned in again and said, “At the same time.” Pete admitted that he knew something about their history but didn’t watch the show.
The ‘Sister Wives’ star feels loved after her previous marriage
Janelle said Pete loved her in ways she never expected. She described him as an “average, nice guy” who doesn’t have a big ego or need too much attention. She also said that he makes her “love” and support her.
The reality star explained that Pete is old fashioned and that she likes to take care of her. He opens doors for her and worries whenever she has to drive long distances. She admitted that someone who is really looking out for her feels good.
The relationship of the lovers began at a distance, and they also try not to spend more than two or three weeks apart. Pete visits her in North Carolina, and she sometimes travels to Las Vegas. They said they hope it will eventually move to the East Coast.
Janelle said Pete grew up on Long Island and previously lived in Las Vegas. He reportedly had to adapt to her country’s lifestyle. She said that when Pete first visited, he was amazed by her quarter-mile driveway. She said she took him out to the flower beds, where he helped with weeds.

Some fans who followed her journey on “Sister Wives” shared their thoughts. “I’ve followed SW since the beginning and I’m so happy for you, Christine and Meri! You’ve always deserved the happiness you’ve created now.” Others praised her for leaving her marriage, making independent decisions, and finding happiness with Pete.
The TLC star shared how polygamy could be ended
In 2025, The Blast highlighted what Janelle believes would end polygamy. Janelle shared her thoughts on how to encourage multi-sex marriages. She proposed legalizing polygamy while ensuring that every wife had a financial claim to her husband’s property.
“Just financially. Nobody is going to give part of their inheritance to four or five wives. That’s just not going to happen,” she said. She also believed that financial accountability would be more effective than sending people to prison.
The TLC star’s marriage to Kody gradually fell apart after they married in 1993. She announced the separation in 2022, after Christine left the marriage in 2021. She later pursued spiritual revelation after initially thinking it wasn’t something she could get.
Janelle reportedly moved to North Carolina and bought a $289,000 property covering 156 acres. She bought the property after a reported dispute with Kody over the sale of her share in the Coyote Pass property.
She also planned to honor her late son, Garrison, with a road named “Bob Blvd.” and a flower garden dedicated to people who have lost their lives to mental health struggles.
Janelle Brown reveals her daughter’s separation from Kody
Janelle previously said that Kody and their daughter, Madison Brush, hadn’t spoken in two or three years. She said Madison deliberately chose not to tell him about her pregnancy. When asked about telling her father, Madison said, “He’ll find out.”
The father-daughter dynamic reportedly extended to Madison’s children. Janelle said Kody hadn’t visited them since Evie was born. She also said that he had little interest in maintaining a relationship with Madison and her family.
Madison said her father was controlling and said he did not respect boundaries. Kody also said that Madison shut him out and that his older children were punishing him because he didn’t fall in love with their mothers.
Janelle had previously confronted Kody about the situation, telling him, “All the kids feel like they’re very different from you.” She also said that his parents became stricter and less involved after he married Robyn in 2014, according to The Blast.
