The Bachelorette alum Caitlyn Bristowe says she now believes in “miracles” after her dog came close to dying.
“This has been the scariest week of my life,” Bristowe, 41, wrote via Instagram on Friday, October 30.”[My dog Pinot] accidentally overdosed on his heart pills. They replaced his usual chicken flavored chewable ones, and he went into the package and ate 120 pills. “
After Bristowe’s partner rushed the dog to the ER, the “Off the Vine” podcast host received terrifying news she’ll never forget.
“We were told to say goodbye, and I can’t even type that without cringing,” she said. “He was on a ventilator and he was having seizures. I had a 20 percent chance of making it. I would go every day to the urgent care unit and lay with him because he always showed improvement when I was there.”
Bristowe credits the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center in New York for helping Pinot get to a much healthier place. In fact, he was able to come home and be reunited with Bristowe’s other dog, Ramen.
“After 5 painful days in intensive care, Pinot is at home, and I now believe in miracles,” she said. “He’s still not clear and on a lot of meds around the clock. But all the vets said he definitely wanted to be here and he’s a fighter. I can’t believe it.”

As for what led to her dog’s near death, Bristowe said it was an accident she could not have predicted.
“They never put chewable pills. I usually have to put it in a piece of banana. They usually put one bottle, and they put two,” said Bristowe. “He ate 120 heart pills. Emergency has never seen a case like that. My building put the package inside the door and Pinot sniffed it out and went in. Really can’t thank @amcny enough. Without them, Pinot might not be here. I can’t say how horrible this was.
