Jason Kelce he showed off his slim figure while taking part in a sumo wrestling challenge.
Kelce, 38, traveled to Houston, Texas, to train with sumo wrestlers and step into the ring against three champions. In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel on Wednesday, October 28, Kelce dressed up to wear a mawashi.
“My stomach is a little bit bigger,” Kelce said as he put on the clothesline. “I’ve been eating a lot of ice cream this summer.”
Kelce, a father of four daughters, has been open about his weight loss journey since retiring from the NFL in 2024. (Jason and his wife Kylie Kelce welcome to Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finnley in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2025, respectively.)
“Right now, I’m about 277. I’m almost 20 pounds down right now,” Jason said. GQ in June 2024. “It’s hard to think about another 20 pounds coming off, to be honest with you. But my back feels better already. My knees feel better already.
“I don’t want to be too small,” Jason said. “I think a lot of guys, especially offensive linemen, lose too much weight, and then they look like bobbleheads because the neck gets so small, but the head stays the same size. … I’ll still be big and I’ll be happy with the way I look without a six-pack. But I’ll be able to have that image a little bit.”
Two years later, Jason reflected on his frame while in the NFL Network broadcast booth and complimenting the Jacksonville Jaguars’ critical long snapper, Da Von Hamilton.
“I like it from the big one,” Jason said. “When I got fat, when I put on weight — I used to long jump in high school — when I got to 300 pounds-ish, it got really hard to look in between your legs. … It’s a great job to come in in an emergency and help your team out. Way to go, DaVon Hamilton. I love it.”
Jason’s broadcast partner and former NFL quarterback, Kurt Warnernoted that the former Philadelphia Eagles center was “never fat” but is “just husky.”
Jason, meanwhile, responded by referring to Body Mass Index (BMI), which assigns a value to a person’s body mass based on height and weight.
“If you look at the BMI, I think I’m technically overweight. Unfortunately,” Kelce said.
