Hannah Ferrier revealed the real reason he was fired over Valium Below deck Mediterraneanbecause she says her medicine was “every season.” In addition, the star talked about when she was “hiding from the cameras” because of anxiety.

In 2020, news broke that Hannah had been fired from the show. Fans later learned that she was let go because she had Valium and a weed pen. Some fans blamed him Captain Sandy Yawnsuggesting that she was too harsh on Hannah, who has been open about her problems with anxiety.

On Overshare the Podcast, Hannah was asked why she was “shot on Valium”.

“I can say this freely because they’ve aired it. They’ve aired Sandy telling me in season four to go take Valium,” she said. “Malia basically [threw a tantrum] and then when my roommate went through my suitcase and then I sent the picture to Sandy and other people, so Sandy had to act on it.”

“I had [the medication] every season,” said Hannah, “I had it on board. This is my anti-anxiety medication and I’ve had anxiety for a long time. So many people wrote to me, like thousands, saying, ‘I’ve never seen anyone have the same physical response to anxiety as you did, and you made me feel less alone.'”

Hannah said this was “so beautiful” to hear.

“Because of season one, I was so overwhelmed with anxiety that I was like physically having panic attacks while I was hiding from the cameras,” she explained. “You know, that was 14 years ago.”

Shortly after Hannah’s shooting, Sandy addressed the situation on the Below Deck Med After Show.

“What I saw with Hannah was a change in behavior that was unlike any other. I said, ‘There’s something different, she’s not herself. She’s checked out,'” Sandy said at the time. “Now, if I take her to sea knowing all this, it’s really negligent of me. At this point, the law of the sea takes over – it’s out of my hands. I was worried about sharing that with her.

“People smoke pot all over the world; people are prescribed Valium, [but] Hannah can’t do Valium and she has a job on a boat, that’s not allowed,” she continued. We’re not allowed to take medication that changes our mind or puts us to sleep. We need to hear warnings, we need to be able to be woken up.”
