It’s almost time!
As Halloween comes to an end, it’s time for Mariah Carey to officially defrost and begin her favorite time of the year, the holiday season, and fans are more than ready.
Every year, Carey shares a fun and festive video on social media to celebrate that she’s spoiled and ready to bust out some holiday tunes. The Blast has put together a list of the past few years to remember the beginning of the festival this year.
Mariah Carey celebrates the start of the holiday season in a fun way
In 2022, Carey declared “IS TIIIIIIIME!!” wearing a Christmas holiday outfit after riding a bike dressed as a witch. The video attracted the attention of almost 50 million viewers and received more than 114,000 comments.
“If MARIAH says it’s time, it’s time,” one person wrote. Another said: “It’s not Christmas spirit until it defrosts. Another viewer said: “YESSSS OMG It’s that time! CHRISTMAS QUEEN FR.”
One viewer wasn’t ready to turn them up, saying, “MARIAH HAS 30 MINUTES TO COOL.” It seems they weren’t alone in that thought as the comment got 174,000 likes.
A few days before she shared that video, she shared one to warn people that it’s “almost time,” and fans took to the comments to share their excitement.
“Her defrosting period came fast this year,” wrote one person. Another said, “She destroys boys.”
Mariah Carey ran with the disinfection theme in 2023
Carey ran with the defrosting theme in any way she could, adding glamor and excitement to the humor.
In the video, she is dressed up in her holiday clothes, trapped in a block of ice, while Halloween characters use hair dryers to help her freeze as we prepare for November 1st. His twins join in the fun, and the holiday season officially begins, Mariah Carey style.
This video got 141 million views and 191,000 comments!
“I look forward to these every year and they never disappoint,” wrote one person. Another said, “The choke this song gets every year is crazy.” Another viewer said, “I was literally waiting for this video before I could go to sleep.”
2024 gave viewers a more dramatic transition from Halloween to Christmas
In 2024, Carey teamed up with Kay Jewelers to bring fans the annual Halloween to Christmas video, which had one viewer commenting, “The budget gets bigger every year.”
After a real “Addams Family” scene with Carey dancing with a man also dressed up, a door opens and the holiday season begins. And of course, Carey does her usual, “It’s Timeeeee” to tell what time it is!
Comments like, “Queen of Christmas Talk,” “JUST STOP DOING THAT,” “This is the one video I look forward to watching every year,” and “We can’t wait for the moment!!!” filled the comments section.
“Halloween Killed But Now It’s Timeeeee”
Carey’s 2025 video was a partnership with Sephora in which actor Billy Eichner played the role of an elf.
“Bad news, Mariah Carey, the elves are hitting this year,” Eichner said, as he approached the door to leave with Sephora bags in hand. “An elf’s revenge for putting us through holiday hell. Santa’s helper quit.”
He then called out, “Christmas is cancelled. No bells, no courage, no glam.” When he asked Carey if she had any last words, she let out her signature, “It’s timeeee!!!” The scene then transitions to a happy, joyful Christmas vibe, with Eichner now a snowman.
This video received over 153 million views and 248,000 comments, proving that her fans have been patiently waiting all year for this. Carey took to the comments to ask, “Who was waiting at midnight?” That comment received 342,000 likes.
“At this point, this is tradition,” one person said in the comments. Another said, “I’ve waited all year for this.”
The wait is for this year’s ‘It’s Time’ video
As of 10:30 a.m. PT, Carey has yet to drop this year’s video on social media. But fans are waiting patiently.
Carey shared a video just yesterday to announce that Glitter25 is out, and while fans are excited about that, it seems they’re more focused on the holiday video she’ll be releasing this year.
“Don’t forget Mariah about tomorrow,” one viewer wrote in the comments. Another said, “I’m waiting for his time.” Another observer said, “Girl… It’s almost time. Get ready everyone.”
Are you waiting patiently for this year’s video? (We are!)
