“I was in a bunch of events,” Emily Wickershamwho plays Bishop, only to tell Usconfirming that she did not have a cameo on the Tuesday, October 27, episode of the one-off prequel series.
The actress, 42, noted that she “doesn’t really know” when Bishop’s final episode of Origins will air, but fans will see her role as Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon) present-day right-hand partner playing out to the max.
“Bishop with this one is going to see it through,” Wickersham said, teasing her character just starting to hunt down Gibbs’ killer.
Earlier this season, viewers learned that someone wants Gibbs dead. Despite being hunted to his remote cabin in Alaska, Gibbs survived being shot and is now on a mission to find his assassin – and the only other person they plan to murder.
On Tuesday’s episode, Bishop appeared on Gibbs at his home in Washington, DC, offering her services after new NCIS deputy director Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) she informed her.
Bishop revealed the identity of the tracker Gibbs found as Rowan Briggs, a CIA contractor, noting that she has set up an alert system to help them track him down when he resurfaces.

The actress is gone NCIS during season 18 in 2021, he noted that during this season of OriginsBishop and Gibbs focus on “trying to figure it all out” while trying to “make sure Gibbs is safe” and figure out who the next target is.
“There’s a lot of fun things, and then, you know, exciting times,” Wickersham said.
Although the next target is expected to be someone from Gibbs’ time working at Camp Pendleton in California in the 90s, which is when Origins takes place, it is not known who they are. (The younger version of Gibbs is played by Austin Stowell.)
Gibbs, however, revealed on Tuesday’s episode that he couldn’t be his 90s love interest and NCIS employee Lala Dominguez (Mariel Molino) because “io died a long time ago” in a plane crash.
Wickersham teased that Lala’s impending death could play a big part in her and Gibbs’ investigation.

Robert Voets/CBS“I think he thinks Lala was killed in the plane crash, and I think it’s all going on for the Bishop,” she said. “Because I don’t think Bishop and Gibbs had ever really had a conversation about Lala’s story and Gibbs and Lala’s story. So it’s all unfolding in real time.”
Although Gibbs is confident that Lala is not the target, Wickersham said Us nothing is set in stone.
“They’re trying to figure out, like, who the target might be, and I think the Lala thing is thrown in like, ‘Wait, what? [dead]?'” she continued. “I think it’s kind of chaotic and confusing for everybody in the current era that’s unfolding as we go forward.”
Wickersham, for her part, is on board with the fan theory that Gibbs and Lala are destined to live happily ever after in Alaska once this case is resolved.
“I love it. That sounds romantic and wonderful, and I hope it happens,” she said with a smile.
