Elon Muskand ex Ashley St. Clair claims in a new documentary that the Tesla mogul cut monthly child support payments for their son by $80,000 in retaliation for speaking out publicly.
Former conservative influencer St. Clair, 28, opens up about having son Romulus, now 2, with Musk, 55, in acclaimed documentary Alex Gibneyand the new movie Muskwhich examines the increasing influence of the tech executive on right-wing politics.
St. Clair told Gibney that Musk gave her a one-time payment of $15 million and $100,000 a month while she signed an NDA that restricted what she could say about him or their son publicly, according to the report. Entertainment every week.
When St. Clair to be silent, Musk would claim that Musk dropped the child support payments to $40,000 per month, before she cut that amount to $20,000 in February 2025 when she publicly announced the birth of her son Romulus.
Us has reached out to Musk and St. Clair for comments.
In Gibney’s film, St. Clair that Musk was “kind” to her until their son was born in September 2024.
“It was almost like he didn’t show a certain side of himself until we had the baby,” she said.
The influencer also claims in the film that she heard from other women around the world who allegedly asked Musk to have children with him.
“There was a woman in Japan who just wanted, basically, a sperm donation that she was obligated to,” said St. Clair. “It’s like a Gatling gun of sperm in his DMs.”
St. Clair sued Musk for full custody of Romulus in February 2025, igniting a legal battle that continues to this day. She is also involved in a lawsuit against Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI, accusing its executives of negligence after users of the X Grok AI chatbot created blatantly fake photos of her appearance.
Her decision to go public in February 2025 about her relationship with Musk was reportedly prompted by a threat from a tabloid to reveal the birth of her son.
“Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. The father is Elon Musk,” she wrote via X at the time. “I have not published this before to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in the last few days it has become clear that the tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it may cause.”
She said, “I intend to let our child grow up in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask the media to respect the privacy of our child, and not report aggressively.”
Musk confirmed that he had recently welcomed his 14th child – whose mother is a Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis – just two weeks later. (Musk shares 14 children with four different women.)
St. Clair continued to fight Musk when she recently appeared on “The Don Lemon Show” earlier this year that she turned down an offer from him and his financial advisor. Jared Birchall that would have netted her “15 million and $100,000 a month for 20 years” while she signed an NDA limiting what she could say about the Tesla boss.
“I have never disrespected Elon. I have never talked about anything, including his staff, his associates, anything,” she said. “I answered Jared and said, ‘I can’t in good conscience sign this.'”
Last month, St. Clair spoke about why she decided to share her story in Gibney’s documentary even if it meant retaliation from Musk.
“Because of my head, I was given an opportunity not to speak for $40 million,” said St. Clair to reporters at the Venice Film Festival press conference. “So when you’re offered something like that, it really causes a debate in your head about what your speech means and how valuable that is, and why do they want to offer me this amount of money without speaking?”
St Clair said Musk’s “most complicated relationship with reality.
“So I think, more importantly, I want to set an example for my kids that you should never be comfortable speaking the truth,” she said.
