It’s hard to believe that The Real Housewives franchise has been around for 20 years at this point.
Along the way, there has been one person to have a front seat to all the action – Andrew Cohen.
This week, Andy, 58, released his new book, Andrew’s Bravo Screenbook.
The book contains a collection of personal photos he took over the past 20 years working with the Real Housewives.
It also included anecdotes, memories, and confessions of his own.
One theme that looms large in Andrew’s latest literary endeavor is all reunions.
Interestingly, Andy said that the reunions were the most difficult for him to film The Real Housewives of New Jersey some.
“When people ask me which reunions are the hardest to film, I always think of Jersey because the family dynamics got more intense and worse as the series went on, making it harder to drive to any resolution and more impossible for me to be heard in the room,” he said. “I’m getting a headache just looking through those reunion pictures.”
“My frustration with this group also has to do with some of their inability to listen, take responsibility for things, and move on,” Andrew said. “There are a lot of tough people in the Garden State!”
In another section of the book, Andy also revealed his favorite reunion from another franchise – namely, the The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season ten reunion.
“This is the virtual COVID reunion,” he wrote along with photos from that day.
“This is probably my favorite Beverly Hills reunion, not only because it was virtual, but also because it lacked the humor and levity that usually balances out some of the drama,” he said later.
Andrew recalled that the women were in their homes while he was filming from the basement of the executive producer at Watch what’s happening livehouse
“We hit until after midnight East Coast time, and after that I just remember sitting alone deep into the night with a much needed tequila while the women’s voices were going through my head,” he said.
