Alexis Bellino and John Janssenmarriage has become more than just the two of them!

One year after their wedding, the couple shows how their relationship has become a blended family, with their six children playing an important role in the life they are building together. From their wedding day to their first year as husband and wife, the focus has shifted to creating one family.

Alexis Bellino and John Janssen married after a relationship that had already attracted attention due to her past with her former “Real Housewives of Orange County” co-star, Shannon Beador. But one year later, their story takes a different shape, with their children and Janssen’s role as stepfather becoming a bigger part of their lives together.

A year after “I do,” Bellino said back to the moment it all started, and it wasn’t just her and John Janssen whose memories stood out. The wedding brought their children into the celebration in a way that made the day feel like the start of a family chapter, not just a wedding.

The children had their own moment during the celebration, delivering emotional drinks as their parents officially began life together. Their participation gave a deeper meaning to the wedding, especially since Bellino and Janssen were entering into marriage with their children who were already at the center of their lives.

Looking back on the day, Bellino made sure to recognize how important the children were to the celebration. In her anniversary post on Instagram, she thanked them for their “heartfelt toasts” and for “giving us love for the parents we are,” before admitting she was left in “tears of joy” as she watched the wedding video again.

The anniversary post drew praise and some shade

One year after they got married, the couple had many reasons to celebrate, and Bellino kept the message simple. She shared a photo of the couple laughing together, thanked the photographer behind the anniversary shoot, and celebrated the milestone with a series of heart emojis and one simple affirmation: “ONE YEAR.”

The response under the post, however, was not nearly as equal. Some followers celebrated with them, with one writing, “Can’t believe it’s been a year already! Happy anniversary little lovebirds!” [White love Emoji].”

Another offered, “Congratulations to two lovebirds!!! [Two fire Emoji] beautiful… how time flies…” and another commenter told Alexis, “You’re beautiful, Alexis! I am happy for you. [Love Emoji].”

But congratulations weren’t the only thing waiting in the comments. Some fans used the anniversary post to revisit the drama surrounding the couple, with one asking, “Is that the shirt Shannon bought him?”

Meanwhile, another wrote, “You show up to that party and immediately walk out because no one wanted you there.” The mix of love and old “RHOC” shade showed that even a simple anniversary post could still spark a lot of conversation.

Alexis Bellino made some tough choices about who joined her new chapter

By the time Bellino was preparing to marry John Janssen, she was already making difficult decisions about who belonged in their new chapter. What started out as a wedding designed to be a big celebration with friends ended up becoming closer, and one former “RHOC” cast member was removed from the guest list.

Jennifer Pedranti had a save date, but months later, when the invitations went out, she never arrived. The reality star finally came out to explain that she had noticed a shift in their relationship; however, the situation became more complicated after Bellino underwent emergency surgery and she was hurt that Pedranti did not check in on her.

As reported by The Blast, Bellino had wanted Pedranti at the wedding but they began to reevaluate their relationship after feeling unsupported during that difficult time.

Even after removing her from the guest list, Bellino still considered Pedranti a good person and hoped they could reconnect someday, suggesting the decision was more about protecting her inner circle than starting another “RHOC” feud.

What started as a much talked about romance quickly deepened

While Bellino was deciding who would be part of her wedding, she and John Janssen saw their relationship as something that could last. Their romance moved quickly, and the couple got engaged after only nine months together, talking openly about the future they wanted to build.

Janssen made his feelings particularly clear before the engagement, describing his wife as someone who brought out the best in him and calling him his “true partner in life”. He also said, “I’ve never felt true love to Alexis, and I’ve never felt more love,” showing how badly he viewed the relationship.

The Blast reported that the two had recently gotten out of long-term relationships when they started dating, giving them a shared experience that helped strengthen their bond. Bellino later described their attraction as something they tried to resist at first, but after two weeks, she said, “Ian and I knew it was what it was.”

For Bellino, the year since he married John Janssen brought much more than a new last name or a milestone anniversary. Along with building a life with Janssen and their six children, she celebrated her son’s wedding, celebrated her own birthday, and entered 50 with a different perspective on the life she was creating.

The Blast reported that Bellino reflected on the whirlwind of the past year in an Instagram post, writing, “9 months, 2 weddings, 1 facelift….yep, it’s been a happy, busy year.” She also admitted that her children and Janssen questioned the decision at first, but made it clear that the choice was ultimately hers.

The change of face was just one part of a year that gave Bellino plenty of change, from being a wife to watching her son get married and entering her 50th year with a different perspective.

After everything that happened, she seems to accept the freedom to make decisions for herself, even when the people closest to her don’t agree at first.
